Long March or Long for Ousting President

By Farid Masood • Jun 13th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 3 Comments •

Long March of lawyers’ community started from Karachi and Quetta is about to reach its destination (Constitutional Avenue). Where the stage has been set for the speeches by the CJP Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, retired justices, President Supreme Court Bar Association Mr Aitezaz Ahsan, Senior Lawyers Ali Ahmad Kurd etc and many present and ex-Presidents of SCBAs and HCBAs.

Government has worked out plans for security and routes of the long march, there may be more than 50,000 people expected in long march as we have witnessed a mass gathering only in Rawalpindi last night.

The stage has been set near the same place where last year on 12th May President showed off his power while addressing about 30,000 people (claimed as 300,000) by authorities. He then in his speech re-iterated that let the full court bench decide the reference against Chief Justice. He promised to abide by the verdict of that bench. That bench re-instated the CJP and discarded the reference made by Mr Shaukat Aziz, ex-imported prime minister. But on Nov 3rd through Marshal Law (emergency plus) he again imposed PCO and then 60 judges of supreme and high court refused to take oath, so the crises started on March 3, 2007 got complex.

Now, people and lawyers gathered in the long march have the two major demands:

1. Re-instate sixty judges and judges taken oath on Nov 3rd, 2007 must be punished due to their bid against the constitution.
2. President Should come before court to answer the nation about his certain acts against the nation.

This long march shall convert into long sitting before Parliament House and Presidency. Let see what comes out as after the telephone from Bush Administration some day back has strengthen the position of the President which went fragile on February 18, 2008 elections.

Bush administration must think wisely as they cannot support a single person if the nation is against him. Participants of long march are yelling their slogan “Go Musharraf Go” and this resistance shall not end with out any suitable decision.

I pray for the safety of the participants of this Long March

  1. What is a constitution; is it bigger than the solidarity of Pakistan? Should it be worth than the life of people who are dieing for ‘atta’ and electricity? The judges sitting to be reinstated are watching silently where the country is going on cost of their job. How many out of these judges who never have taken ‘rishwat’, especially when they take high potency casts like Saz-e-Mot. Black coats are actually black sheep. Don’t they think how many hundred poor people travel to courts and go back having found the lawyers on strike? Are they serving the poor people? These are the people how against cash, argue and make effort to get their client free of charge in any case, even if he is actually involved in crime and killed innocents. Our people how voted forget what both the political leaders delivered in past. Getting military involved is absolutely wrong, but what are reasons; the reason certainly is political leaders who always pull the legs of each other. Is it not true that these are the leaders who wrote letters to Generals to come forward. How many ulemas have ever declared in the press conference and by other means that committing suicide is ‘haram’ and no compromise on what the Holy Quran said. All those and the media mainly against Musharraf, but none has enough courage to take the positive aspects of Musharraf regim. Nobody talks that he built small dams, nobody talks the mega projects and Gawadar, nobody talks the Indus Highways, nobody talks how neat and cleanly handled the bullion of USD came for Kashmir earthquake. Although the internal situation of the country don’t justify for Musharraf to stay, he is failure, but watch who is better than him to replace. Election is not the solution, why the people where they recognize their candidate by watch photos on the ballot paper, means could not read, illiterate, how can they make good decision. Illiteracy of our poor people is being en-cashed by emotional slogans like we will get the sugar, atta prices back to year old prices; is it possible? The media talks about democracy; does the democracy mean to give news that President is arrested, Chief Justice and other judges are thrown out of Supreme Court and military entered whereas these news were contradicted by their other speaker/journalist of the same channel and within 10-15 minutes. repeatedly telecast and placed on . Shame, not far but shortly it will be known to the people that Indian and anti- Muslim agencies were behind them to destabilize the country and the main purpose is to finish the first Islamic nuclear power of the world. So, the solution is Khomeini.

  2. This long march is a BIG SLAP on the faces of lawyer’s and their movement and to the faces of nawaz sharif, imran khan, qazi hussain, ex service-men and others so-called civil soceity, media (especially geo who are blindly supporting long march at the cost of their neutrality and independence).

There are few thousands people participating in this long march after spending billions of rupees on its campaign. If we exaggerate a lot , we suppose the participants are 100000 out of 160000000 people of Pakistan; which will become 0.00625% of the total population.

Compare this long march with only a protest in South Korea where more than 2.5 million people attended (last week) against a tiny issue of demanding govt. to stop importing American beef in the country. The population of S.Korea is just 4.5 million.

So we can say that the people has given vote to Musharraf again and all these people must die NOW in “CHALOO BHAR PANI MEIN” AGAR THDI BHI SHARAM NAM KEE KOI CHEESE HEY TO….

SAB SEY PEHLEY PAKISTAN AUR US KEY BAD MUSHARRAF

    JEAY MUSHARRAF

    Q. What is a constitution; is it bigger than the solidarity of Pakistan?
    A. Constitution is a document to be treated as a shit paper by ever military or civil dictator.

    Q. Should it be worth than the life of people who are dieing for ‘atta’ and electricity?
    A. Yes it is made by the people so that they may get justice so the hoarders of atta, rice etc, shall be punished in such a way that in future no one tries such act.

    Q. The judges sitting to be reinstated are watching silently where the country is going on cost of their job. How many out of these judges who never have taken ‘rishwat’, especially when they take high potency casts like Saz-e-Mot?
    A. Sorry to say when Army comes in Power and a major who don’t have a chair for sitting in the army gets an aircondition room with a lady secratary and a car an direct tele line in office and residence, authority to suggest hire and fire, a Brig. appointed as head of any department does not takes bribe.
