Let Them Pass NRO

By Maria Sultan • Nov 2nd, 2009 • Category: Politics • 9 Comments

Yeah let them dig their own grave. Pakistan People’s Party was finished with the tragic assassination of two-time Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and since then it’s Zardari Party, and all of his acolytes and himself are here just for one time, and while they are at it, they want it all for themselves and don’t have any love lost for their party or for the country for that matter.

So if anybody thinks that Presidetnt and cochairman worries about the future, the next elections, the vote bank then he is living in fool’s paradise, because President is here to enjoy lucky power and then he will be off to enjoy the immense wealth. This parliament is a sham, and most of ministers, advisors and other bigwigs of current regime would follow the plane of president.

It is difficult, verging on the impossible, to believe that the PPP would ever resurface again by rejecting the NRO and asking their co-chairman to let go of it and get a clean chit from the courts. It’s useless task calling to the attention of PPP political decision-makers and managers the need to show practical wisdom and skilful political techniques, as well as insightfulness and vision to let the democracy flourish by discouraging the corruption.

  1. This grave has been made open by SC and credit goes to ch Iftikhar.
Just used his power of law to professional criminals and all veils are removing from the faces of all time angels.
It is decisive time that whether Na writes history in this regards to follow the path of democracy or become part of history by supporting one of daylight criminal legislation in front of whole world,

  2. I don’t think if letting PPPP away with the party is a good idea. It will set a dangerous precedent and if we have more parties like this one, then there will be a never ending party at the top.
Plus our current situation requires someone who is very serious about putting this country on the right track in face of this existential threat and bringing and end to the corruption. From the look of it I can see that some politicians haven’t changed a bit. Perhaps they need to do a reality check. They will be amazed to find out that Pakistan is much more aware than it was when they had a party last time. If they are not afraid of any court cases they should face it then.
NRO in itself is not a problem but they precedent and the mess it will create makes me say “Al-Amaan, Al-Hafeez”

  3. Last nail on the coffin.

  4. I can bet you guys will vote for Chota Bhutto the moment he lands back from London. You know it ;)

  5. Altaf ditched Zardari on NRO and advised him to resign from the Presidency..

  6. NRO was promulgated after taking all the political parties into confidence said by former President earlier. PPP is not benefited from NRO but also PML (N) and MQM are beneficiaries of NRO. The sole purpose of NRO was to end political confrontation and start reconciliatory process but unfortunately it was taken in wrong way. Few people pin NRO with Zardari to malign his image. All the cases against him were made by Nawaz Sharif during his own regime and all of them has not been proven yet as they were politically motivated. I wonder why people who endorsed NRO by saying that it would help starting new era of politics and would end confrontation in Pakistan, now talk against NRO as if they we juvenile during its imposition. NRO is now been presented in the Parliament, I don’t know why poor people go after poor NRO every time. Let the Parliament to decide this issue. NRO must not be linked with only PPP to dent its credibility.

  7. as far as NRO is concerned, so its not only President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP who took advantage from this Black-Law*, their is an enormous number of other politicians like ALTAF HUSSAIN, NAWAZ SHARIF and many of their colleagues, partners have got rid from trails and criminal cases, proceding this what they call it BLACK-LAW..
so by the way who is ALTAF HUSSAIN(extremist/criminal) suggesting Zardaarii to withdraw in the favour of democracy !!

  8. Its true that a lot has said against NRO and its beneficiaries and its repercussions on society. In today’s world of open and well informed media i wonder how govt representatives and PPP allies deny the open facts and keep on insisting and beating their own drums. I am astonish that the PPP i.e Pakistan People’s party not Polluted politicain’s party can think of something against the will and rights op people of Pakistan. Again History is proving itself that every new era of PPP is much more corrupt than the previous one. It has become now quite irritating to listen some false justifications specially by Ms Fauzia Wahab, Babar Awan and information minister. there is a wave and resentment against NRO. I must say it should also be against its defending hypocrats.

  9. enemy is inside the country some are called terrorist some are called religious fanatic but we are worried about NRO. Who is not Corrupt in this country. Some make to the press some are minting millions and not in the picture? All these politicians are either corrupt or they do not have conscious and morale authority to stop? We are playing in the hands of enemy by diverting our attention from REAL issues of Pakistan, which are social issues of the Poor. One Chief Corrupt Judge can not sove these problem. He himself can not CLEAN his COURT room from the Corrupt officials How he can be Messiah for the ILLITRATE NATION?
