By Rohail Butt • Oct 6th, 2008 • Category: Politics • No Responses •

The valley of Kashmir is once again buzzing with the slogans, chants, prayers, rallies, meetings and passion of freedom from the occupation of India. Kashmiris from all quarters of life are rallying behind their leaders to get rid of the cruel and murderous Indian grip.

Leader of All Parties Hurriat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has appealed to people to reach Lal Chowk by defying curfew.  Indian army enforced a strict curfew in the occupied Kashmir on Sunday and detained Yasin Malik to prevent him from holding a pro-independence rally. The curfew was in force in the summer capital Srinagar and other Muslim-majority towns ahead of Monday’s planned rally at the main city’s Red Square, or Lal Chowk.

Thousands of Indian army troops along with police have  been deployed in Srinagar. Indian army is searching the area from door to door, arresting every men and harassing women and children. They are shifting the Kashmiri men to the unknown places, and there are reports of torture and subjugation.

Though the top leadership of APHC is under arrest, Kashmiris are determined to reach Lal Chowk tomorrow, no matter what.
