Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry En-route to Peshawar

By revo • May 31st, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • One Response •

Me became an eye-witness today as deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry just left the area of Hassan Abdal. A huge motorcade was witnessed and the presence of common man was witnessed and the proportion of public was more than the lawyers’ presence.

I remained in that ‘KAAFILA’ for almost half and hour, the deposed CJP was sitting calm in his personally arranged vehicle and refused to use a bullet-proof offered by the government.

The important sight seeing was that the police chaps were so formal that one should pinch himself that he is not dreaming and he is in-between police force.

You can witnessed the slogans written on banners, the people were chanting slogans:

ift21

ift231

ift2341

‘No place for those who are selling our people’, ‘No place for dictatorship in Pakistan’, ‘re-instate the Chief Justice’, ‘We shall not allow to killers of humanity to run-away’, and last but not least ‘ CHIEF TERAY JAAN NISAR – BAYSHUMAAR BAYSHUMAAR’, and CJP left for Burhan with more than 10 dozen cars, coaches, buses etc.

This public participation proofs the public trust on Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and caution against the Musharraf Regime, and also point of thinking for Asif Ali Zardari.

  1. “CJP was sitting calm in his personally arranged vehicle”

How nice! he is known to be good at arranging vehicles.

Hamid Gul is running transportation business, may be they should team up, this will be pretty productive arrangement for them both.
