Judges Restoration : Breakup or Breakthrough
By Salman Mugsi • May 7th, 2008 • Category: Politics • No Responses •Though Jamat Islami leader Qazi Hussain Ahmed thinks that breakup of People’s Party and Muslim League-N coalition would strengthen the dictatorship, but the ground realities say that their breakup would pose a real battle ground for the dictatorship.
The delaying tactics by PPP in the reinstatement of judges and the way they have tried to postpone the by election to damage PML-N have established it beyond doubt that PPP is acting in connivance with the Pervez Musharraf according to the script dictated by the Johan Negroponte and Richard Boucher.
Farooq H. Naek who looks Mohammad Ali Durrani reincarnated is hopeful of a positive outcome of the meeting as ever, but Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim, Aitzaz Ahsan and the PML-N members of the committee are utterly hopeless as no progress has been made so far in the direction of bringing up resolution on 12th May for the reinstatement of judges.
Pakistan People’s Party is stressing upon PML-N to accept the Dogar judges of Nov. 3 PCO along with the deposed judges and clip the power of the chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary. PML-N, thankfully, is not agreeing to those terms as they clearly negates the very purpose of the lawyers movement for the freedom of judiciary.
