Jiggery Pockery of PPP over Judges Restoration
By Dr. Hassan Isfahani • Apr 24th, 2008 • Category: Politics • One Response •When people of Pakistan evenly distributed the mandate of 18th February among the PPP, PML-N and ANP, they made sure that no single party would have a dictatorial like stance and they were right. Yes people always are right. As now Pakistan People’s Party tries hard to somehow circumvent from the reinstatement of judges, PML-N is obligating it to not to backtrack from the issue.
Pakistani people want total freedom of media and total freedom of judiciary with democracy shining and sparkling. Including the issue of the restoration of deposed judges in accordance with Bhurban Declaration, yes, the people want an end to the plethora of crisis striking hard at the core of the nation.
In a typical office environment, when the employee don’t want to do a task, they call a meeting, and when in the government, elected members don’t want to render, they make committees. Besides of extreme bad taste in the mouth of PML-N, PPP has forced them to go along with the formation of 6-member committee for the restitution of the deposed judges.
When Asif Ali Zardari and Mian Nawaz Sharif meet next time, I plead them to not to utter the following line:
“We fully stand by the Bhurban Declaration and we will implement it in letter and spirit”

The mandate is not at all equally distributed - where do you live? The PPP is the most popular party across the land. PML-N is only in Punjab - unless you are suggesting something else.
I would suggest to Asif Zardari to let this minor partner in the coalition know that PPP is a democratic and liberterian party and must respect its constituents. Either PML-N learns to play by the rule or just get out of the way. PML-N leadership will understand it, after all they are children of three no four generals (Gilanee, Zia, Beg, and Gul), they understand when get a kick in the right place.
