A Candid Blog

Its not that simple

By The Pakistani Spectator • Jul 22nd, 2007 • Category: Uncategorized • 3 Comments •

on 9th March noon, Chief Justice of Pakistan Mr Justice Iftikhar Muhmmad Chaudhry met the President of Pakistan General Pervaiz Musharaf. This meeting, whether requested by CJP or called by President. Presence of Director General (IB), Director General (MI), Prime Miniter and offcourse President hemself in uniform was to show of power to CJP, who was asked to write resignation letter immediately. CJP was offered that he would be posted on a desired post. He was kept in detention for 5 Hrs or so and 5 days ofter his refusal. A reference was prepared against him in hassel and sent to Supreme Court for his planned dismissal.

From 9th March to 20th JUly 2007, no body from political parties supported but only the nation supported him. Our brothers who are lawyers are part of this nation faced all at front line. Gratitude to those who protested in favour of CJP in such a killing hot weather.

Offcourse political parties participated as they also got the issue to act against the government. We should analyze why such support was extended to CJP. He travelled 4 hours journey from Islamabad to Lahore in 28 hours. Where he travelled he got appreciation. He was extended support from many retired judges and many retired senior army officers. But nation who don’t act on many issues (fact that we are poor demonstrators as a nation) acted on this issues.

But truthfully speaking the termoil from which the nation was passing through last 5 years of so was actually acted as booster for it. This termoil existed because of uncontrollable inflation rate of currency and food items, poor situation of law and order situation, price hikes and nobody is on front to control it, claims of economic progress cannot be seen anywhere (may be somebody enjoying it), toy parliament which is unable to raise issues of general public concern, any many many other issues directly related to the nation and offcourse to the poor.

The issue of 9th March gave an opening to the pressurized nation to raise voice itself as MNAs and MPAs are enjoying their perked and priviliged life. The nation came on the road with laywers as leaders. God bless after 4 and 1/2 month result came out and nation won the case and credit goes to the lawyers who went to hospitals by getting swere injuries and in this killing hot weather stayed in direct sun for days long.

The result was announced in 20th July in evening and CJP was re-instated as Chief Justice of
Pakistan. He created a cell in Supreme Court to act on application of general public problems, He acted and taken suo moto notices of more than 6000 cases. That is why nation was behind him, on the other hand army government has done nothing remarkabke for the poor nation. What they had done till now they have to answer God for their deeds as no power can stop them because their choosen God is behind them.

Due to their positions they cannot be fined or punished for waisting court’s time for more than 4 months, as honorable court has to give its time on daily basis for this critical case which then proved fake. Now they are claiming that democracy won in Pakistan. Which democracy about any one talks in Pakistan. Uniform will be left on personal decision, no one hear the voice of nation, no one to act in nation’s favour, LFO imposed to judiciary, etc etc. Is this means democracy? This is a hybrid for the others but actually dictatorship for the nation.

Now government can claim they nobody lost in this case. They are true as this was the win or loose for the nation and not for them. But surely its was not a win-win situation. All cases of national interests should be probed in whether that is privatization cases of Steel Mills, Pakistan State Oil Company, War on Terror, Lal Masjid, Missing persons, etc etc

Therefore, sorry Mr. Tariq Azeem, Mr M.A. Durrani, Mr Shaukat Aziz (known as Short-cut Aziz), Mr AG, espacially State Minister for Law and to all who say that it was a win-win case. I am sure that State Minsiter for Law is a feeling less personality that he might not feel his defeat and he should opt to go now.

But surely from this government has to go now whether PM, Law Minister or any body more powerful than them.

Its not that simple to be translated in ones own favour. Its write-up on the walls by the nation now you all should read that with a Pakistani eye.

  1. Its a news for me that he initiated a cell of suomoto cases. He must be helping thousands of people from that, and that is why we saw a huge common support for him throughout the country.

  2. I mean I still wonder who was that wise man who suggested Musharraf to put a reference against CJP. Things werent that bad for him before that, but now he has become very much despicable.

  3. Qaiser

its ’somebody’ and you know it.

Who suggested Nawaz Sharif to stop Mussaraf’s plan for landing, and, and, and . . ?
