Its not even worth a “TAKKA”
By Saleem Khan • Jul 10th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 5 Comments •Since my childhood, I am regularly hearing one Idiom “yeh to Takkay ka bhee nahi hai” means, its not even worth a Takka (Bangladeshi Currency). The idiom is mostly used to show worthless of any commodity or item. Why we uses Takka, not Paisa? Reason is only one, we Pakistanis always felt ourself superior and majority still believes that it was blessing that we get rid of highly populated East Pakistan in Dec 1971. So we started using word TAKKA as a world’s degraded currency standard for valuing any commodity or item. Our one institution was used to call them before partition as “Bengali Kuttay” and “Bengali Chor”.
Today, I was analyzing Int’l currencies and found 1 Takka = 1.053 Rupees / 1 Rupee = 0.949 Takka. It means that Takka has become stronger than Pakistani Rupee or in other words “WE PAKISTANIS NOT EVEN WORTH A TAKKA”.
As Pakistani, it is very shameful time for us. This superiority complex in the region, by getting International loans and following dictations of USA and Europe has taken us at the door of hell. Meanwhile, India and Bangladesh relied on their internal resources and built a nation. Today same nation is working hard and raising their country on World Map. We have all natural resources but unable to utilized them positively, on the other hand Bangladesh can not grow even a single plant of cotton but exporting high quality garments in the whole world. We feel shame to use our own country’s brands to use while living in Pakistan, but these Indians and Bengalis searches their own country brand while living abroad. It is called NATION.
Today, Bengalis have right to call us “Yeh to takkay kay bhee nahi hain“.

impressive article .
As per my information Takka’s were being used as currency unit even after our independence, but for now we cannot say ” yeh to paisay ka bhi nahin hay” because i am unable to use “paisa” due to smallest unit is rupee now.
Saleem Sahib, this is an old Idiom “yeh to Takkay ka bhee nahi hai” and has been in use since ages and, believe me, it has nothing to do about our complexes vis-à-vis Bengalis, Bengladesh or their currency Takka. Economic ups and downs are a normal feature and while it does reflect strength or weakness of a currency; however, the present weakness of our Pak Rs. is no measure to rpove that
“WE PAKISTANIS NOT EVEN WORTH A TAKKA”. Always remember your worth is not Rupees, it is worth of your currency, no more no less; you are a person, a Pakistani and believe me even a Bangladeshi does not think our or country’s worth is nothing. Look I don’t mean to insult that country, but truth must be said, Bangladesh has been known as a ‘basket case’, whereas thank goodness and our lucky stars no one ever hurled any such insult to us or our country. You might be right in your expectations to see us a unified nation, so do I. But, Saleem Bhai, this must begin with your person and mine; you have to stop down grading Pakistan, it does not help, it is counter productive.
Dear Saleem,
Bangladesh has abolished Polio while it si still prevalent in India and Pakistan due to some mullahs. The mullahs in India donot allow polio drops and so it is prevalent in muslim dominated areas of Bihar and UP.The achievemnt of Grameen bank of bangladesh is one which all south asians should be proud of.Bangladeshi doctors and mariners and peace keepers are doing verywell.
bangladesh’s literacy rate is better than pakistan. under 5-year old child mortality per 1000: bangladesh 68 and pakistan 105. pakistan is a waiting for a painful disintegration, the entire world know that. people getting killed by usa bombing, and other bombing. shame on you napakis.
