Here, I am not talking about shortage of Ms Rice of USA, as she is there where needed. I am talking about the shortage of yield of crop ‘Rice’, which is the second food item after flour and is much necessary in many diseases when you cannot eat flour. We have witnessed the deep spells of shortage of ‘Atta’ (flour) and the price have risen from Rs 11 ~ 35 (price varies in different parts of the country) and even after raise in consumable price the supply of ample flour was scarce and now going to settle down but the price not.
In last one or so years the price of ‘A – quality’ (as per local market) have risen from Rs 30~70 per kilogram, which is more than 100% increase. In last three or four months the rate has risen more than 30%.
This high rise in price is alarming and a question strikes in the mind that ‘Are we heading towards the shortage of Rice from the local market?’
