Interview with Blogger Sriharsha

By The Pakistani Spectator • Dec 12th, 2008 • Category: Interviews • 3 Comments

Would you please tell us something about you and your site?Hello! My name is Sriharsha and I am an Engineering student from Bangalore, India. I am basically a controlled extrovert among general public, and among close friends, a crazy cracker who blabbers everything without a second thought. So, take me to be a straight forward, yet humble person. It was out of frustration that i started a blog, which will be clear if you read my first post. But later on, i wrote whenever my personal life clogged up and the situation demands me to unwind. So letting my mind free is the basic thing my site is all about.

Do you feel that you continue to grow in your writing the longer you write? Why is that important to you?

Yes. because, the more i write, the more readers i get, which means i get to read more blogs, and that means, i know about the diversity existing around me in terms of language, ideas, knowledge, patriotism, regionalism, mentalities, and a host of other things which my sub-conscious mind keeps probing about. So, it indirectly enhances my personality.

I’m wondering what some of your memorable experiences are with blogging?

Memorable experiences, in any field, would be recognition and whole-hearted encouragement. Every time I am appreciated for a good post, or criticised for presenting it the wrong way, they’re going to be in my memory. Because, appreciation encourages you, and criticism improves you.

What do you do in order to keep up your communication with other bloggers?

I maintain feeds in my browser itself and do not depend upon 3rd party readers. Leaving a worthy comment only after reading a post is the most important aspect to maintain healthy blog-relationships.

What do you think is the most exciting or most innovative use of technology in politics right now?

Nothing. Unless there is a change in the mindset of the polity, nothing, including advanced tech can bring an improvement. Probably the people will get more lazier if tech aids them to lead an easier life.

Do you think that these new technologies are effective in making people more responsive?

Making people more responsible, and not just responsive, is the need of the hour, which includes You and Me as well.

What do you think sets Your site apart from others?

The tag-line of my site says it all. “Stop here to start afresh”

If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?

Using right words and actions at the right timing.

What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

Both are quite personal issues to be discussed, and are not shared by more than 5 individuals, excluding me.

If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?

When the mood is light and adventure-crazy, being with friends and Nature, along with high spirits will make any place a dream getaway!

What is your favorite book and why?

Lord of the Rings - It deals with language, heroism, determination, enemy, war, peace, people, politics, power, responsibility, love, hatred, revenge, valor, strategy, etc., at a fair and deserving detail to respective aspects.

What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?

Eyes and speech.

Is there anyone from your past that once told you you couldn’t write?

None bothered about what i did. So, writing is no exception. I was a free bee to select writing as one of my passions.

How bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?

Ads, charity, donations, or just become famous and sell off your blog. But none of it is my cup of tea.

Is it true that who has a successful blog has an awful lot of time on their hands?

Nope. It depends upon one’s priorities.

What role can bloggers of the world play to make this world more friendlier and less hostile?

Everyone is polite and will hide their true facets to most extent in the blog-o-sphere. So, even if it isn’t truly friendlier, it will create a good sense of having a good (virtual) world around you.

Who are your top five favourite bloggers?

My favorites keep changing as and when I encounter new and amazing bloggers.

Is there one observation or column or post that has gotten the most powerful reaction from people?

I dont know. But my personal favorite till now has been “The Cage” written by Amit. (http://mashedmusings.wordpress.com/2008/10/19/the-cage/)

What is your perception about Pakistan and its people?

Pakistanis are people like any other. But it is better if they fight by themselves first, the issues making them unpopular around the world.

Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger?

Yes. Many. I see uniqueness in every person, not necessarily at all times. It is but natural that everyone is unique because no two people get to live a congruent life.

What is the most striking difference between a developed country and a developing country?

The attitude of the people towards the country. You script your country’s future. It is not the other way round as is perceived to be genarally.

What is the future of blogging?

It will sustain itself till every man has wit and sanity left in him. On another note, I’d like to say that it is growing and it will continue to grow, as long as any person wishes to express himself.

You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?

Yes. As i said earlier, Blogging un-clogs my mind and what better way than that to lead a happy life, personally and professionally!

What are your future plans?

Nothing as of now. Will have to work it out before finishing my Engineerng.

Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?

Do not let a human guide you. Guide yourself with your natural intuition and instinct, which will teach every human what is good and what is bad. Don’t let anyone else tamper with it.
