Interview with Blogger Shoaib Muhammad Khan
By The Pakistani Spectator • Nov 13th, 2009 • Category: Interviews • One ResponseWhat do you think sets Your blog apart from other blogs?
Well too be honest I cant say that my blog is too unique but still I believe that what sets me apart from anyone else is that besides I address the religious issues I also try to enlighten what actually is to be done by our youth and our nation i.e. The Establishment of Islamic Republic, not by just name but in its full character.
If you had to describe life as a blogger in a Twitter message (140 characters) what would you say?
Both of High Responsibility and Honesty. As many are tilting to believe upon blogs than what they see on the news!
If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?
Am not too successful in life yet
so cant say it…. but I believe that discipline can help you get there where you want.
What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?
Yom-e-Takbeer May 1998 was actually my happiest day as a native Pakistani and also when the Russians withdrew from Afghanistan back in 1994 and Fall of Baghdad April-May 2003 was the moment when I terribly felt as lost to cowards.
Urdu Blogs have got huge potential, when do you think they will really take on the online horizon in Pakistan?
If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?
Middle East, Hind and Spain
What is your favorite book and why?
There are actually quite a few. But besides Al-Quran, I like ‘ Insani Duniya per Musalmanon k Urooj-o-zawal k Asraat’ by famous Ali Miyan nadwi RA and ‘Khilafat o Mulookiat’ By Sayyed Abul Ala Mawdudi RA
What is your avourite meal, dress, and sport?
I eat anything when I am hungry :-P, Dress….. Shalwar Qameez with vest or sherwani and qaraquli topi. Cricket – I use to be semi-professional.
Which are the top 3 places in Pakistan for honeymoon?
I believe that would be Shamshal Right up in North past Skardu, Chitral and Fairy Meadows past Challas.
What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?
Whether they do Salam or not.
Whose Future is more bright in Pakistan; English blogs or Urdu Blogs?
Urdu blogs may be some people doing them for fun, but I believe English blogs are more bright.
How Pakistani bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?
I don’t do everything for money so I cant really answer that :D……
Do you think Pakistani bloggers tend to remain somewhat self-centered and really don’t go out of their shells? Is it the oriental style of blogging, or they are still unsure about it?
Well I think Pakistani bloggers don’t have too many topics to address at present. People who think responsibly deem it wrong to ignore the current situation of Pakistan, where as people who don’t like much of politics don’t have much to write about besides addressing from there self. ( I maybe wrong)
What do you think where the Pakistani blogosphere is right now?
There is still a lot to come, coz I think there aren’t many nations on the face of planet that are as talented as Pakistanis are.
Who are your top five favourite bloggers in Pakistan?
I don’t know many of them, so i cant say
Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger in Pakistani blogosphere?
I haven’t read many of them but I think TPS is a good effort and I am really impressed by there environment.
What is the future of blogging in Pakistan?
I have a firm believe wether it be Urdu or English but in times to come Pakistan will stand in amongst the best bloggers worldwide. Not because of the special care and patronage that our govt provides but because of NO PATRONAGE whatsoever and if you see in the recent past you will realize that our national heroes have come out on the basis of there own skills and seldom would we find an example where our govt really did something to create a Hero!
You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?
I think not too much besides that now I have to do a lot of reading and skim reading as well.
What are your future plans?
To do something for Pakistan that will change the tide of development, civilization and prosperity in favour of Pakistan. To transform Pakistan into a true Islamic Republic where the governance shall be of Allah SWT.
