Interview with Blogger Parzi

Q.Would you please tell us something about you and your site?
A.I am Parul,I am pursuing my Masters in M.A psychology.I created my blog in June this year..its called..”Xpressive Thoughts” and as the name suggests its an outlet for my thoughts..I am not a professional writer.. here I just pen down what my heart feels,my mind thinks and my imagination fabricates!

Q.Do you feel that you continue to grow in your writing the longer you write? Why is that important to you?
A.Yes I certainly feel that the more you write the more your writing skills improve..the expression becomes more clear and your command on language also becomes better.
Earlier when I used to write it was very similar to scribbling but blogging has taught me how to organise and present my thoughts clearly and I definitely feel my growth as a writer.

Q.I’m wondering what some of your memorable experiences are with blogging?
A.There are two-three actually..first was the day when I published my first post..and was overwhelmed by the encouraging, warm and welcoming response I got from so many people in the blog world..I remember I couldn’t stop smiling the entire day and that proved to be quite a motivation for me! Second was when I got my first blogger award from Leo and the third when I got the”honest blogger”award from Princess Nuchu for a post that I wrote!Honestly everyday is a memorable one here!

Q.What do you do in order to keep up your communication with other bloggers?
A.Well some communication gets done on the blogs itself in the form comments and feedback and other than that social networking sites like Orkut help!

Q.What do you think is the most exciting or most innovative use of technology in politics right now?
A.The 21st century is all about the wonders of the Internet and the politicians are using it extensively to their advantage!

Q.Do you think that these new technologies are effective in making people more responsive?
A.Certainly..they help you stay connected, keep you informed, updated without much ado.. everything is available at the press of a button..people have become techno-savvy and the world a global village.

Q.What do you think sets Your site apart from others?
A.My expression sets my blog apart from others..I don’t follow the dictum of what should be written..It is about what I feel..maybe right, maybe wrong and since we all have individual differences therefore my thought and expression will not match with others .. making it different on its own.

Q.If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?
A.As of now I can’t label myself as successful.I have a long way to go but yes if I say what has kept me going so far is my ability and willingness to learn from the smallest incidences of life and my strong will power!

Q.What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?
A.We all have our shares of ups and downs..sorry can’t rate experiences that well..I’ve had a mix of both like everybody else..where if i have had dark nights then God has also blessed me with bright days!

Q.If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for – what would your top 3 choices be?
A.Firstly the whole of India and then Switzerland and Paris.

Q.What is your favorite book and why?
A.Of whatever I have read I have two favorites one is”Tell Me Your Dreams” by Sidney Sheldon..that’s because the author has very beautifully crafted a plot using MPD[Multiple Personality Disorder] as the core..pursuing psychology for 5 years now it became all the more interesting for me.Other than this “Love Story” By Erich Segal and that’s because its a wonderful amalgamation of love, romance and emotions!

Q.What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?
A.Usually its the way a person speaks or carries himself/herself catches my attention first.

Q.Is there anyone from your past that once told you you couldn’t write?
A.No! Besides myself nobody told me that I couldn’t write..but It was my friend Stephen[known as The Solitary Writer in the blog world]..who actually got me serious about it and encouraged and supported me through out]

Q.How bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?
A.Honestly I am not aware of it..but I guess its through some advertisements or something..sorry not very clear on that one.

Q.Is it true that who has a successful blog has an awful lot of time on their hands?
A.I don’t think so because I don’t consider blogging as a time pass nor is it an obligation, its all about creating that time for ourselves when we can be with our thoughts, feel free to imagine, feel free to express in a world that is our own..if you see most of the bloggers are either students or professionals..and such people don’t have a lot of time because of their hectic and demanding schedules still they take out time to read and write only because they like to not because they have nothing better to do!

Q.What role can bloggers of the world play to make this world more friendlier and less hostile?
A.There is a famous saying that,”The Pen is Mightier Than The Sword”..Words can change lives at times and if God has blessed us with this talent then it can definitely prove to be instrumental in spreading the message of love and peace across the globe. This learning and sharing can abridge the regional, racial, religious, social and gender differences by clearing up  those misconceptions and prejudices that take man away from man!

Q.Who are your top five favourite bloggers?
A.Now that’s a very difficult one..all of them are my favorites from Stephen to Nuchu,to Kajal,Leo,Arthi,Priya,Arjun,Priya Joyce..each one of them is equally good..mind blowing writers..really!Q.Is there one observation or column or post that has gotten the most powerful reaction from people?
A.Everybody has been very kind, supportive and encouraging towards my works though they are all so experienced and talented still they have always been very appreciative of my amateur posts but yes I guess my first post”Beginning Of a New Journey”..got the maximum responses and each of them was overwhelming!I will always Cherish those words!

Q.What is your perception about Pakistan and its people?
A.I perceive Pakistan as our next door neighbours..where our brothers and sisters live.A cultured Nation with good hearted people having a beautiful language and lovely names!I hope and pray love and peace reside in this country forever!

Q.Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger?
A.Surprisingly all the bloggers that I have come across are exceptionally good and unique in their own..where somebody is good at expressing emotions ..someone has the talent to write humorous posts and someone else is excelling in writing about everyday issues..they are all different from each other..the only thing common in them is that they are all wonderfully talented people!

Q.What is the most striking difference between a developed country and a developing country?
A.A developed nation is one where there is no poverty,no unemployment, people enjoy a good standard of living, they make use of advanced technology.Whereas a developing nation is one which is better than an underdeveloped nation but is still in the process of becoming a developed nation!

Q.What is the future of blogging?
A.Blogging provides a beautiful platform to all the writers and poets to share their views, opinions, thoughts, imagination in a very friendly and warm environment and  it is bound to bring some amazing talent to the front as well as bring people together to learn and share! So the future will bring more opportunities for the writers and a feast for the readers!

Q.You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?
A.Blogging has added a new flavor to my life.I feel rejuvenated!Though its a public site still I call it my own little area of relief..where I can be what I want to be..and for this the credit goes to all the wonderful readers who read my work…because they always care to listen and understand. And on the other hand when I read the work of other people…there is so much I learn..and all this certainly helps you to grow as a person.I learnt to share my thoughts here,to speak my mind out and my understanding of many issues has gone better!I call it the school of life where I am enjoying each day!Its touched all aspects of my life beautifully and I’m loving it!

Q.What are your future plans?
A.For now I’m focusing on making my career in Psychology..and other than that a lot of rough ideas..which haven’t been organised or planned yet..!

Q.Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?
A.I wish all of you a very happy life..make the most of it  and spread the message of love and peace wherever you go because Life is actually too short for love  and spreading smiles so don’t waste any minute and do what you really want to so that when its time to bid farewell to this world you don’t have any regrets!
