Interview with Blogger Decent Community
By The Pakistani Spectator • Sep 4th, 2008 • Category: Interviews • No ResponsesWould you please tell us something about you and your site?
Decent Community: Our site strives to promote decency. We do this by discussing a variety of topics that make life interesting and secondarily decent: Belichick, rangoons, post shower poops, love making, Spank Banks and art amongst other things.
Do you feel that you continue to grow in your writing the longer you write? Why is that important to you?
Decent Community: Actually I do. Just the other day someone told me I was getting better at writing and I thought, hmmm, that’s cool, thanks bro.
I’m wondering what some of your memorable experiences are with blogging?
Decent Community: More often than not when researching a piece we come across horn inducing things that make ones bone hit the bottom of a table. That is a memorable experience, for sure.
What do you do in order to keep up your communication with other bloggers?
Decent Community: Not Applicable.
What do you think is the most exciting or most innovative use of technology in politics right now?
Decent Community: I’m not sure because I’m not in politics. My guess is that they have a variety of different tools they use to promote agendas, research, etc.
What do you think sets Your site apart from others?
Decent Community: What we write about.
If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?
Decent Community: Ambition, humor and decency.
What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?
Decent Community: The day the pats hired Bill Belichick is the happiest and I envision the gloomiest day to be the day that Ed Hochuli retires.
If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?
Decent Community: 1. The Azores, 2. New Zealand, 3. Hawaii
What is your favorite book and why?
Decent Community: Moby Dick.
What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?
Decent Community: Probably how they smell. Decency reeks, and if someone reeks of decency, you notice it right of the bat.
Is there anyone from your past that once told you you couldn’t write?
Decent Community: Of course, but writing decent things is just a little piece of the puzzle. When people diss my writing shteeze, I just keep truckin.
How bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?
Decent Community: Decent Community makes most of its cash through public engagements, speaking events, etc.
Is it true that who has a successful blog has an awful lot of time on their hands?
Decent Community: Nope
What role can bloggers of the world play to make this world more friendlier and less hostile?
Decent Community: That’s simple - we can promote decency. A lot of mainstream media lacks decency these days, and to that note, soo do religious bodies that think they are decent. In my opinion, decent community is the only truly decent organization on the planet.
Who are your top five favourite bloggers?
Decent Community: We don’t read blogs.
Is there one observation or column or post that has gotten the most powerful reaction from people?
Decent Community: People seem to gravitate to our post on Making Love with Gigantic Vats of Grease. It seems like their are a lot of kinky people out there looking for new and improved ways of funkifying their relationship.
What is your perception about Pakistan and its people?
Decent Community: For the most part you guys seem like a chill group of folks.
Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger?
Decent Community: Not really.
What is the most striking difference between a developed country and a developing country?
Decent Community: The relationships that developed countries have with each other which allow for free trade, create technological advancement through communication and increase the chances of the Country to grow economically due to a global consumer base. These things developing countries don’t necessarily have - along with resources to produce a commodity that other Countries need.
What is the future of blogging?
Decent Community: It doesn’t look good. Decent Community will probably take everyone’s readers and their blogs will tank.
You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?
Decent Community: Decency cannot be separated - blog life, personal, professional life - all decent. Urghghghghghghg.
What are your future plans?
Decent Community: I’m probably gonna find a really randy woman. One who likes to fester, cook me grizzle and will keep the fridge full of bronsons. At that point I’ll probably settle down, have a kid and name him Dexter.
Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?
