Interview with Blogger Chirag Chamoli
By The Pakistani Spectator • Dec 16th, 2008 • Category: Interviews • 3 CommentsWould you please tell us something about you and your site?
*Gulp* about me, well it lets start with the usual stats age: 25, city: Bangalore …I work in marketing, it’s a challenging and interesting (PS: you don’t want to take this an career option, you don’t get to relax, ever). I am an Engineer and MBA, go figure. I travel a lot, and read a lot.
Blog actually started so that I don’t blow up my brain and record my idea in one place, then I met really wonderful people whom I learn from and started evolving my blog and now it’s about opinions, criticism, beliefs and stories.
Do you feel that you continue to grow in your writing the longer you write? Why is that important to you?
Yes, that is write, when you have been writing for such a long time the writing is gooder J and more than that you can than break the constrains of grammar and dictionary. This important for me as I believe the most essential criteria which makes us human is (other than the opposable thumb) that we communicate and listen to everyone’s story and share experiences.
I’m wondering what some of your memorable experiences are with blogging?
Most memorable experiences were to meet so many people who love to communicate and exchange ideas with them.
What do you do in order to keep up your communication with other bloggers?
I use feed readers and email subscriptions to get updates. And I comment, as a rule I make sure that in 99.9% of cases to reply to each comment separately, because to me comments are one of the most important aspect, this encourages a dialogue.
What do you think is the most exciting or most innovative use of technology in politics right now?
Nothing, actually politics, has not changes since ages, it is same bullshit, and technology has made it worse.
Do you think that these new technologies are effective in making people more responsive?
New technologies are sure making us aware, but then now we are loosing an essential part of our lives to this “noise vs. signal” struggle, with so much to learn and discover, it is hard to set in the filters.
What do you think sets Your site apart from others?
Well, I write it.
If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?
Creative, problem solving.
What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?
Happiest, when I realized, I had met my ‘better half’. Gloomiest not yet, fingers crossed.
If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?
I would pick Zurich, Amsterdam, and Paris.
What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is Atlas Shrugged; because, well you should read it to know, why.
What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?
Shoes (footwear). I think footwear speaks a ton about the person.
Is there anyone from your past that once told you couldn’t write?
Ohh…well many people whom I had written against.
How bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?
Ads, Sell Home made stuff, corporate tie up, paid reviews etc… Though this is not something I see my self ever doing.
Is it true that who has a successful blog has an awful lot of time on their hands?
Nope, successful blogs stick to their passions.
What role can bloggers of the world play to make this world more friendlier and less hostile?
We are already doing that, with an exception of a few jerks here and there, what I have seen is people have a strong inclination to promote the truth and facts. There is a completely different Blogosphere where people tend to helps others, geographical differences are not seen, clarify the mis-conceptions create by media and politicians across, promote worthy causes, one would say a true community.
Who are your top five bloggers who have inspired you?
Five bloggers who have inspired me a lot are;
IndianHomeMaker : lifeofanindianhomemaker.blogspot.com/
Nita: nitawriter.wordpress.com/
Donstuff : donstuff.wordpress.com
Dinu : offlineblog.net
Nikhil: mirrorcracked.wordpress.com
However, you can access blog roll page for the complete list of my favorite blogger.

Is there one observation or column or post that has gotten the most powerful reaction from people?
Our Religion Is ‘ME’: http://chiragchamoli.wordpress.com/2008/10/23/our-religion-is-me/
I urge the reader to go through this post at least once, and share their thoughts.
What is your perception about Pakistan and its people?
I understand that we are were and are the same. The current confrontation is a result of a few political egos and indecisions of people in power at that time. May I urge everyone to stop listening to media and politicians as both have ulterior motives to fulfill. Let us at least virtually build stronger bonds, so it transcends in to political will, someday. What I love most about Pakistan are Munni Begum and Ghulam Ali .
Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger?
Every blogger is unique.
What is the most striking difference between a developed country and a developing country?
G9 Submit J. On a serious note, in my humble opinion, most of the developed countries were also colonial states, so they had the money from the slave colonies and their own which made them cash rich, which in turn brought in investments and development at a large scale. The developing countries on the other hand are struggling for the basic necessities of life, so till people have the basic hygiene for life, we should really not be think of development.
What is the future of blogging?
I think blogging will be the first draft of the history and our future generations will use them to understand what we all stood for and achieved.
You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?
There is some inevitable overlap between all three, especially I was angry once and I wrote a piece against bosses, my brother once wanted to share a list…you know the usual. However there was an instant when I almost got in trouble due to a post at my work place. Other than that it’s cool. All three spheres compliment each other’s.
What are your future plans?
Well to tell you the truth, I want to start a Research Lab for Physics and …. something like that then lets see.
