Would you please tell us something about you and your site?

Well, I’m a 21 year old Indian female living in Dubai, and trying to explore the field of computers through engineering. My site iThoughts is pretty much based on my daily affairs. The idea behind the blog is not to make people read but make them think. It delivers some crazy thoughts which makes people smile.

If they are happy, I’m happy.

Do you feel that you continue to grow in your writing the longer you write? Why is that important to you?

I think it gives me the motivation to develop new ideas which leads to creativity. And I’m happy to grow that way through my writings.

I started scribbling in my journal one day, and thought why not share this with the world? The only difference it made was I got back the response I wanted. It did help me realize that there are many others who go through a similar phase that I’m aware of.

I’m wondering what some of your memorable experiences are with blogging?

It’s been just two months since I started blogging. They are not so much of an experience but a journey of words, if I may say. I met some amazing bloggers who did give me the confidence to continue with my blog. The hours of constant searching for a perfect template can be counted as a memorable past time, I guess. Catching up with the world was pretty much what I could do with blogging. I’m very happy to tell you that it’s an amazing journey.

What do you do in order to keep up your communication with other bloggers?

Communication has never been a problem, thanks to technology.  I know there’s facebook, twitter, and million other messengers, but what I do is visit their personal space. Their blog speaks more than the five minute chat we might have online. I make sure I pass on my comments on every post they come up with. This is what I do to knock on their doors.

What do you think is the most exciting or most innovative use of technology in politics right now?

The answer is kind of obvious : The Internet. It’s been almost a week now and twitter has been receiving floods of messages regarding the Iran Elections. I guess the media publicity online speaks for itself. Though it’s innovative, I don’t think it’s exciting because almost every field has got their way on the internet. It’s just too easy , a path, to express.

Do you think that these new technologies are effective in making people more responsive?

Of course! I definitely do think so. Not a single soul is unaware of the social communities in this generation. It’s sort of a technology spread which attracts every bird – the users, to share or comment online.

What do you think sets Your site apart from others?

It’s just too random. The personal issues itself gives it a whole new setup. I’ve set the theme so that people enjoy the aura while reading my posts, and just so that it doesn’t feel like going though an old scripted note. Though this one is used by many, but I let every soul comment without any moderation. It’s a freedom space. Everyone needs to express what they are thinking.

If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?

I have two : sarcasm and patience. I’ll choose patience because everyone wants to scream out loud when they are going through a zig zag phase in their lives. I want to be the one who can listen to them all day. I don’t know about success but it did help me befriend a lot of souls. I’m glad I have them around me in my life right now.

What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

My happiest moment as of today was when I won an award in singing. There are a lot of gloomy moments to pick from, but I’d like to say that I hate being betrayed. That’s when the darkest hour of my life arrives.

If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?

Darjeeling [I’m in love with the hills]

Rome [I fell in love with its history]

Tahiti [recommended by a special someone]

What is your favorite book and why?

My favourite book is Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore. I’m not a big fan of poetries but this book whispers to you when you’ve lost all hope in life. Every little poem tells a story, and what’s amazing is that he could express so much with fewer words.

What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?

I never follow the ‘’first impression always counts’’ theory. A lot of times that has changed my mind to my surprise. I guess I try to get to know that person randomly but not specifically. So, I guess the noticing doesn’t really count there.

Is there anyone from your past that once told you you couldn’t write?

Yes, my english teacher did tell me that.

How bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?

They can always campaign for the best selling incentives across the world. The advertising, or the magazine blogs are making a good deal out of it. One can create an alternative Ebay Blog. I’m sure the one dollar per click idea might work.

Is it true that who has a successful blog has an awful lot of time on their hands?

It’s not exactly true. I know friends who actually have a routine where there’s a time separately kept for blogging. Most of my active blogger friends are working. Infact, most of the successful blogs are owned by the corporate birds. Of course, it’s a totally different case for some of us student bloggers, who blog the most when on vacation.

What role can bloggers of the world play to make this world more friendlier and less hostile?

They can always spread the message and heal the world with their words. I’m aware of many such blog sites who invite members to enter a guest post which is later shared with billions. This actually motivates people to write and express themselves. We can connect through words. Every idea expressed can be appreciated. No one will feel left out.

Who are your top five favourite bloggers?

I really cannot mention that because I follow blogs whenever I tend to like their posts or feel they are very free to scribble online. I love every blog that’s blogrolled on my page. And they all know it.

Is there one observation or column or post that has gotten the most powerful reaction from people?

Yes, there was a post about the yahoo messenger chat rooms. A lot of people jumped in there because there’s no denying that we’ve been there atleast once. I was glad to know that they went through something similar.

What is your perception about Pakistan and its people?

Pakistan is beautiful, and I love its people. I can say this because I’ve a few Pakistani friends in my college and they’ve been the most supportive. I even know a few people online who are too good to be true. I don’t want to comment on the ones who create ripples in that land. All I can say is that it honestly makes me sad of how much the people are suffering there.  Being an Indian myself, I don’t consider it to be a different country in the first place. We were, are, and will always be ‘’one’’.

Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger?

Yes, there have been many such blog birds who impressed me to the core.  A part of my inspiration has been received from them.

What is the most striking difference between a developed country and a developing country?

Frankly, I don’t see much of a difference. There’s just too much creativity and greed going on around. The countries which are developed still continue developing even more which makes it on the same track as the latter. The only difference is that people take too much for granted when success comes easily, which is the case with developed countries.

What is the future of blogging?

Express, and let express.

You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?

Professionally not much, but personally it has affected me in a better way. I feel I have a hobby which is shared with many of my other friends. I love blogging, and I’ll continue to do so as long as I’m capable of doing it.

What are your future plans?

I plan to pursue higher education in the field of graphics. The idea behind it has always intrigued me. Maybe, someday I’ll create my own templates with a digital format.

Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?

I just want to say that you’re doing a wonderful job running this website. It helps people to know that their work is being appreciated. I also want to thank you for giving me an opportunity to express myself here. I wish you my best from the heart. Keep up the good work. Keep reading. :)
