Interview with Blogger Ahsan Ahmad Zia
By The Pakistani Spectator • Aug 30th, 2009 • Category: Interviews • 3 CommentsMy name is Ahsan Ahmed Zia. I am a 26yrs old male from Peshawar. Professionally i am a doctor and i have just completed my M.B.B.S. I blog here. I also publish my photos at flickr and I also twitter.
I was introduced to blogging back in ‘04/’05 when i was an avid reader of the local Spider technology magazine, which led me to the pages of Dr Awab, which was at that time teethmaestro.blogspot.com, G3technews,g3technews.blogspot.com, and Saj Shirazi,http://sajshirazi.blogspot.com/. These 3 personalities were my inspiration to blog.
Well, every blog has got a unique flavor and my recipes include local issues, science and health, tech and photos.
The life of a blogger is very demanding. You have to be creative all the time and have to come up with new ideas plus avoiding copy/paste.
I think its none other than the relationship with the Creator of this
Universe, Almighty Allah, which has led me to this place.
The happiest moment was when I got admission in medical college in 1st attempt and the gloomiest when this led me to hostel.
Yes, Urdu blogs have got a huge potential but i think they will really take off when the Urdu OS’s and softwares become freely available. Then a rickshaw driver, who myself have witnessed them to be going to net cafe’s regularly, will be able to blog and share his feelings with the world.
They would be,
1) Alaska
2) Swiss Alps
3) The pyramids of Egypt
I have lived most of my life in text books, computer games and then mostly online but once i got an opportunity to read a novel ‘Doomsday Conspiracy’ by Sidney Sheldon in which a detective gets stuck in a secret mission against the govt. and then the way he manages to escape is very interesting.
My favorite meal is Seekh Kabab.I like Shalwar Qameez as i feel very comfortable in them. And my favorite sport is badminton.
The top 3 places are,
1) Muree
2) Nathigali
3) Kaghan
I straight-forward look onto his face and get to know whether he is friendly mood or not? and if not then i quit.
I feel that this depends more upon the medium of education of the upcoming generation. And mostly it is English, so the future of English blogs looks more bright to me.
If the bloggers work with devotion and always post something new and interesting, then they will get more traffic leading to big Ads and more money.
They were self centered and remained limited to themselves when blogging was new. But this is not the case now. Some people are discussing politics and technology very expertly.
I think Pakistani blogosphere is of very high calibre.Their command over english language is very good and the ideas are expressed very impressingly. The designs are also good. They can compete with blogsĀ from any part of the world.
My top five are:
1.Dr Awab Alvi of http://teeth.com.pk/blog/
2.Amir Atta of http://propakistani.pk/
3.Owais Mughal of http://pakistaniat.com/
4. http://rupeenews.com/
5.Yasir imran mirza of http://yasirimran.wordpress.com/
Yes, i am always stunned by the abilities of Dr.Awab Alvi. He is always ahead in every aspect of blogging in Pakistan, from the very first day. He has the ability to write about anything from science to politics and in an excellent manner. Plus the different kind of activities he initiates and takes part in is very impressive.
The future of blogging has got alot of potential in Pakistan. Even the new school going kids on the block are doing excellent blogging and using the tools which I took time to learn. And as i mentioned earlier, with the free availability of urdu softwares, a rickshaw driver/a chapri wala will be able to blog and share his feelings with the world in an unheard way.
My life as a blogger and a healthcare professional, both are very demanding and require devotion. Whenever i have tried to concentrate on one, the other has suffered. And with the passage of time, new and unique things are appearing on the horizon of internet, like twitter is these days, and they tend to be very addictive. So, at times it becomes very difficult to maintain balance between the real life and digital life.
To buy a domain for myself as soon as possible and start blogging like a pro.
I will recommend all the readers of The Pakistani Spectator to always try and project the true colors of our religion, culture and civilization which include honesty, humbleness, respect, honor, unity and many others to the outer world and dispel what is spread in media against Pakistan these days.
At the end, I want to thank The Pakistani Spectator team especially Ghazala Khan for considering for interview and I wish them very success in upcoming days.
Many prays for the long life of my country Pakistan and InshAllah you are there to stay!
Allah Hafiz.
