Interview with Blogger Ahmnodt Heare

By The Pakistani Spectator • Nov 23rd, 2008 • Category: Interviews • 2 Comments

Would you please tell us something about you and your site?

Ahmnodt Heare is a fictional character running for president.  The purpose of the website is to point out the absurdity which has become American politics.

Do you feel that you continue to grow in your writing the longer you write? Why is that important to you?

I believe that I am growing as I continue writing.  Writing is important to me because it helps keep me sane.

I’m wondering what some of your memorable experiences are with blogging?

My most memorable experience with this blog is some people thinking that Ahmnodt Heare is a real person who really believed in his platform.

What do you do in order to keep up your communication with other bloggers?

I reply to their blog postings and they reply to mine.

What do you think is the most exciting or most innovative use of technology in politics right now?

I think blogtalkradio.com is the most innovative use of technology.  It is a radio talk show on the internet and people can call into the show with a special dedicated telephone number.

Do you think that these new technologies are effective in making people more responsive?

I think it is helping and that more people will be responsive as information about the technology becomes more widespread.

What do you think sets Your site apart from others?

What sets my site apart is that I am blogging through the eyes of a fictional character.  I think there is more truth in my blog than in some of the “real” blogs because I am not trying to spin anything.

If you could choose one characteristic you have that brought you success in life, what would it be?

I would have to say it wwould be my sense of humor.  One needs a sense of humor to go through what I have gone through.

What was the happiest and gloomiest moment of your life?

The happiest moment of my life was when I graduated college.  I had to overcome a ton of obstacles to earn my degree.  The gloomiest moment was last year when my father passed away.

If you could pick a travel destination, anywhere in the world, with no worries about how it’s paid for - what would your top 3 choices be?

San Diego

Amsterdam

Buenos Aires.

What is your favorite book and why?

My favorite book is “Why Government Doesn’t Work” by Harry Browne.  That book changed my life more than any other book.

What’s the first thing you notice about a person (whether you know them or not)?

The first thing I tend to notice is how they treat other people.  That tells more about a person than any accomplishment.

Is there anyone from your past that once told you you couldn’t write?

My 7th grade English teacher.  He said I wouldn’t amount to anything.  He was wrong.  :)

How bloggers can benefit from blogs financially?

Bloggers can benefit from blogging by properly marketing their blog and by treating their readers with the utmost respect.  If a blogger disagrees with a reader, he or she should state why without name-calling and be truthful.

Is it true that who has a successful blog has an awful lot of time on their hands?

I think the most successful bloggers have the least amount of time on their hands.  It is a matter of time management.

What role can bloggers of the world play to make this world more friendlier and less hostile?

Bloggers can be what we thought the mainstream media was supposed to be:  Honest and respectful of other views.

Who are your top five favourite bloggers?

Sir Satire - http://sirsatire.wordpress.com
Canadian Fermentation - http://canadianfermentation.com
Future Update - http://futureupdate.wordpress.com
U4Prez blog - http://blog.u4prez.com
A Need to Rant - http://maditude.wordpress.com

Is there one observation or column or post that has gotten the most powerful reaction from people?

My Emperors’ Club Experience - It was an account Ahmnodt had at a brothel.  He didn’t know what a brothel was nor did he use the services usually offered.

What is your perception about Pakistan and its people?

I think most people are fine decent people.  The mispreceptions we have about Pakistains (and everybody else) comes from the media and the elitists.  We all love our family and our children and want what is best for them.  It is the politics that kills everything.  Soldiers are mere pawns who are killed whil the kings enjoy tea.

Have you ever become stunned by the uniqueness of any blogger?

I am more stunned by the lack of uniqueness when I read blogs written by Democratic and Republican supporters.

What is the most striking difference between a developed country and a developing country?

I am sorry I don’t know enough about developing countries.  My hope for those living in a developing country is to learn from our mistakes and make things politically better for its citizens.

What is the future of blogging?

I think that government will try to control blogging.  Governments do not want the people to know how corrupt they really are.

You have also got a blogging life, how has it directly affected both your personal and professional life?

I want to be a writer someday.  I think of blogging as building a portfolio.

What are your future plans?

I want to get the minor US political parties to get together and market themselves to compete with the Democrats and the Republicans.

Any Message you want to give to the readers of The Pakistani Spectator?

Don’t think of a person by their nationality, race, or religion.  Judge people by what they do to make the world a better place.
