Incredible India: Man Beheads Granddaughter For Good Harvest

By Isha Khan • May 2nd, 2009 • Category: Politics • 29 Comments

IN India, a grandfather has beheaded his 10-year-old granddaughter in the belief that sowing seeds mixed with her blood would yield a bumper crop.

And, of course, there is one less mouth to feed. It’s win-win.In the tribal region of Sambalpur, 450 kilometres west of Bhubaneshwar, the capital of Orissa state, the IANS news agency sees Rajesh Hembram caught and handed over to police.
Hembram, who owned 1.2 hectares of farmland, planned to sow seeds mixed with the blood of his granddaughter on Monday on Akshaya Tritya, a day considered auspicious by Hindus, police said.
“He cut off his granddaughter Bernaka Kandulana’s head with an axe in a room when nobody was at home and drained her blood into a pot,” P.C. Nayak, a police inspector said.
“We found some seeds in a steel pot that were mixed with blood,” he said. Police said the man was arrested and had admitted his crime.
At least it is a crime…

  1. There were widespread riots during the Partition of India in 1947, with attacks on Muslim minorities by Hindu mobs . In order to facilitate the creation of new states along religious lines population exchanges between India and Pakistan were implemented, at the expense of significant human suffering in the process. A large number of people (more than a million by some estimates) died in the accompanying violence. Members of the RSS, a Hindu organization, were involved in massacres.[49] After the annexation of the Muslim-ruled state of Hyderabad by India in 1948, about 7,000 Muslim Indians were either due to emigrate to Pakistan at their own will or interned and deported from India.[50] There was widespread violence against the Muslims as an aftermath of the ‘Police Action’ (officially Operation Polo) and Nehru had a committee investigate the pogrom against Muslims, but the resulting Sundarlal Report was never made public (an estimated 50-200,000 Muslims are believed to have been killed).[51]

In 1992, members of the Vishva Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal destroyed the 430 year old Babri Mosque in Ayodhya,[52] on the basis of their assertion that the mosque was built over the birthplace of the Hindu deity Rama and a Hindu temple existed at the site before the erection of the Mosque on the assumption that much alleged agreeable evidence suggests this to be fact. The demolition was followed by anti-Muslim riots in Mumbai allegedly perpetrated by the Shiv Sena party.

The Sangh Parivar family of organisations, has allegedly been involved in encouraging negative, stereotyping of Muslims, and in the 2002 Gujarat violence they were allegedly responsible for encouraging alleged attacks against Muslims in response to the Godhra train burning allegedly by Muslims in which 60 Hindus were killed.[53]. Subsequent riots led to the death of several hundred Muslims. Another major incident was at Naroda Patia, where a Hindu mob, massacred more than 100 Muslims after an incident sparked by Muslim on Hindu violence had got out of hand. In another incident at Best Bakery, in the city of Baroda, 12 men were massacred and burnt.[54] The Gujarat riots officially led to the death of 1044 people.Human Rights Watch puts the death toll at higher figures, with 2000 deaths, mostly, with attacks against Muslims by Hindu mobs.[55] Another 100,000 Muslims became homeless, according to the U.S. State Department’s 2002 human rights report on India. About 20,000 Muslim businesses were destroyed.[56]

One of the complaints of Indian Muslims is the failure to bring to trial any of the Hindu rioters responsible for anti-Muslim pogroms in Bombay in 1993 and Gujarat in 2002. Status of Indian Muslims, according to a recent report, was below that of the “Untouchable” caste of Hindus. Indian Muslims, who make up 13% of the population, hold only 3% of state posts.[57]

Recently Hindu mobs have again attacked Muslim villages after cows had been sacrificed for the festivities of Eid. In 2005, this caused the destruction of 40 homes and 3 deaths. A police investigation revealed that no cow had been slaughtered in the village.

  2. A horrifying barbaric incident! Thanks Isha Khan for showing us a glimpse of what really happens in India. In fact this barbaric act is condemnable, but we must not forget that worse horrifying things have happened and are still happening in India.

Massacre and Butchering of Muslims and Christians is the state policy in many States of India, for example in Gujarat, where the RSS/BJB Hindu Extremist Chief Minister Narendra Moodi encouraged a systematic massacre of around 5000 to 70000 Muslims. Even Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch reports that the Government of Gujarat State provided mobs of Hindu Extremist Organization like RSS, VHP with voter lists that had names and addresses of all Muslim voters there. Just in one Muslim neighborhood of Gulberg Society in Ahmedabad, a mob of 20,000 Hindus armed with swords entered and butchered around 1500 Muslims in a single day. and the police and Indian arrmy that was supposed to maintian peace stood silent and in many cases assisted the Hindu extremists in their indiscriminate massacre of Muslims. These mobs mercilessly murdered Muslims women, children and old men. About 20,000 Muslims businesses were destroyed by Hindu Extremist mobs, all under the nose of Narendra Moodi. They didn’t even spare babies. And worst thing is that not a single culprit has been arrested or punished even after 7 years of this horrific genocide of Muslims.
This single incident speaks volumes about Inida’s stupid claims of their country being a ’secular’ one. There are so many horrific incidents like this in India, where minorities were massacred. Life is really hell for minorities in India. And just a few weeks ago, BJP leader Varun Ghandi declared that he would cut the hands of Muslims. Just last year, hundreds of christian missionaries were burnt alive, hundreds of churches torched, and hundreds of nuns raped by Hindu extremists in the Orrisa state. Extremist Hindus want a total elimination of all minorities from the subcontinent.
We in Pakistan have our problems but we must thank God that we are free from the oppression and state of fear that minorities have to suffer in India. We Pakistanis have the courage and capacity to deal with our own problems. So Indians must stop their senseless propaganda and look into their own county where Hindu extremists massacre minorities on a regular basis, with total impunity

  3. Freedom struggles are already underway in large parts of India, where minorities like Muslims and Christians are fed up of the Hindu Extremists who each year massacre thousands of innocent people belonging to Muslim, Christian and Buddhist communities.

In order to protect the existance of minorities living in India, it is very pertinent that a 2nd partition of India be carried out, just like the one carried out in 1947. However, this time, India must be divided into atleast 15 parts.

Quaid-e-Azam Jinnah during Pakistan’s freedom movement always reiterated: “India is neither a country, nor its inhabitants are a nation. It is a subcontinent with various nations living here”

The above statement of our wise leader holds true for the India of today. Let’s hope that within the next 3 to 4 years, we see the rise of 10 to 15 independent nations that will replace India.

We Pakistanis are lucky that we got freedom from Hindu Fanatics. Now we Pakistanis must help all the minorities living in India to gain their independece from Extremist Hindu Indian Establishment. We must actively support the Balkanisation of India.

  4. Lol…..there are so many freedom struggles going on within India! :-)

WE SALUTE THE BRAVE PEOPLE WHO ARE FIGHTING EXTREMIST HINDUS TO GAIN INDEPENDENCE FROM INDIA!

  5. In his youth, A Z Phizo had collaborated with the Japanese army in Burma.[1] He grew disillusioned with the political motives of the newly independent Indian government.

As the British were preparing for their withdrawal from India, Phizo separately met the Assamese, Garos, Khasis, Lushais, Mikirs, Abors, Mishmis and Meiteis leaders in an attempt to convince them to form independent countries of their own, instead of joining the proposed Union of India. However, his efforts failed. On August 14, 1947, one day before Indian gained its independence, Phizo declared the independence of Naga region.[2]

Phizo’s influence in the Naga National Council (NNC) increased in late 1940s, after the NNC secretary Imti Aliba Ao retired from politics for an appointment in the Indian Frontier Administrative Services. Phizo became the NNC Chairman in October-November 1949 after defeating Vizar Angami of Zakhama village by a margin of one vote.[3] Under his leadership, the NNC inclined towards seeking secession from India. Phizo urged the Naga people to boycott the Indian elections. He met the Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru in December 1951 near Tezpur in Assam, in March 1952 at Delhi, and in July 1952 at Dibrugarh.[3] He was arrested in Burma for illegal entry.

In September 1954, Phizo formed the “People’s Sovereign Republic of Free Nagaland”, with the support of Chang chiefs of Tuensang.[3] He also reorganized the NNC setup, as the chances of a peaceful settlement declined.

In 1955, the Angami leaders T. Sakhrie (who had served the secretary of NNC since its inception) and Zasokie broke off with Phizo at a meeting in the Khonoma village. Phizo got Sakhrie murdered in January 1956.[3] On 22 March 1956 he formed the “Naga Central Government”, which was later renamed to “Federal Government of Nagaland” (FGN) in 1959. The new organization had a military wing to encounter the Indian soldiers, who were accused of human rights violations by the separtists.

Phizo escaped to East Pakistan in December 1956, from where he went to London.[4] He continued supporting the secessionist movement in Nagaland, until died in exile in London in 1990.

  6. Peoples Republic of Nagaland has already been proclaimed, with a government in exile having a Prime Minister and several ministers. We muust help our Brave Naga Brothers, by giving them arms and amunitions so that they can throw the Hindu Extremist out of their Nagaland.

  14. Satguru Arjan Dev jee showed his Sikhs, by his example, to endure the most horrific of tortures by India’s Hindu DSecurity Forces, but not to compromise on principles. In the scorching months of May and June, Guru Arjan Dev jee was boiled alive and made to sit on burning plates with hot sand being poured on his head. Even then he kept repeating ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਆ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ
    Early Life
Bhai Gurdev Singh Debu was born on July 15, 1961 in village Dheerpur, Jallandhar. His parents were Mata Gian Kaur and father Sd. Gurbachan Singh Sekhon. Bhai Gurbachan Singh was a farmer.
Bhai Gurdev Singh completed his primary education in Dheerpur and attended high school in nearby Dialpur. After this, Bhai Sahib began to work on motors and became known as an expert.

    Khalistan Commando Force
Bhai Sahib joined with Bhai Manbir Singh Chaheru, Bhai Mathra Singh, Bhai Tarsem Singh KuhaaR and others to form the original Khalistan Commando Force. Bhia Gurdev Singh became the Area Commander for Doaba and participated in many actions. He was respected not only by the Singhs in the KCF, but by all Jathebandis. The police began to dread the very name of Bhai Gurdev Singh.

Bhai Manbir Singh Chaheru: General KCF
Bhai Sahib took part in many battles with the police and always inflicted heavy damage. He was terror incarnate for the Indian Government. Soon if the police knew Bhai Gurdev Singh was in a certain area, they would evacuate and leave so that they would not run into him.
Under the command of Bhai Gurdev Singh, Doaba did not see any looters commit crimes. They were too terrified to act. The Hindus of the area also loved Bhai Gurdev Singh since he would help poor Hindu families by giving money and not let anyone harass them. Even today, the Hindus remember Bhai Sahib and attend his yearly Shahidi Memorial.
Bhai Gurdev Singh built links with many prominent Singhs like Bhai Harjinder Singh Jinda, Bhai Satbachan Singh Sakruli, etc. and worked on punishing the police touts, Narakdharis, and informers.

    Arrest
The police made many tries to capture Bhai Sahib but each time were unsuccessful. But they say that when one patriot is born, thousands of traitors are born with him. One person who brought himself close to Bhai Gurdev Singh and presented himself to be a great Sikh sympathiser, invited Bhai Sahib to his home and put a powder in the milk he served. Bhai Gurdev Singh fell unconscious and was arrested in this state.
Bhai Sahib was considered one of the top Singhs in Movement and the police were ecstatic at having made this catch. They had captured a sleeping lion.
Bhai Sahib was questioned about his fellow Singhs and where he had hidden the weapons of the Commando Force. Bhai Sahib refused to speak a word. It was the hot month of July and Bhai Sahib was kept in a small cell with no food or water. Like all Sikh fighters, Bhai Gurdev Singh was first beaten but he did not say a word. His bones were broken and twisted. Next, his legs were cut open and hot chillis were thrust in, but again, he gave no information. Bhai Gurdev Sigh’s body was then pierced by red hot iron rods but the reaction was still silence. The frustrated police then went so far as to cut out Bhai Sahib’s eye. Not one hideout was revealed and Bhai Gurdev Singh was lost in Gurbani. Like his master and role model, Satguru Arjan Dev, he kept repeating ‘ਤੇਰਾ ਕੀਆ ਮੀਠਾ ਲਾਗੈ ॥ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਮਾਂਗੈ॥’.

    Martyrdom:

The police reached the limit of brutality when they could not get any information. They boiled a tub of water and put Bhai Gurdev Singh in. The scene of Bhai Dayala in the boiling cauldron was repeated again and this Singh too did not falter. Bhai Gurdev Singh refused to speak a word and seeing his final moments before him, only cared about Gurbani. Bhai Gurdev Singh was boiled to death but did not reveal a single companion’s name, hideout or weapons cache.
On Friday July 3, 1987, the police attempted to show a fake encounter and claim Bhai Sahib had been killed in a gunbattle. News spread like jungle fire and the entire area was stricken with grief. Local villagers surrounded the police station with their tractors, trolleys and buses and demanded they be given the body of their hero to cremate with full honours. The police were terrified of what the mob might do, so they handed over Bhai Gurdev Singh’s mutilated body. The villagers saw the remains of Bhai Gurdev Singh and even hearts of stone melted. The unspeakable torture he faced was clear to all. All wondered how any human could possibly do this to another?
News of this brutal death spread across Punjab. Thousands of Sangat arrived for Bhai Sahibs Bhog. The police had sealed the area to prevent a large gathering, but the Sangat broke through all barriers to honour their Shahid. Bhai Sahib had shown that Khalsa Spirit is alive today and Sikhs can still bear the same tortures and not lose their faith.

    Aftermath
This was not the end for Bhai Gurdev Singh’s family. The police had been unable to take even a single piece of information from Bhai Sahib and his Shahidi had inspired thousands of Sikh youth. The Indian Security Forces were shocked at the horror they could inflict and still not be successful and were humiliated by the public reaction.
Bhai Sahib’s family including Bhai Gurdev Singh’s mother, father, brothers, sister and wife were arrested and tortured. They wanted to know where Bhai Sahib had hidden his weapons. Bhai Sahib’s mother and brothers were hung from the roof to get information but spoke nothing.
With so much blood filling the foundations of Khalsa Raj, is there any doubt that it will be a reality? What will we do to bring this reality about?

All Pakistani Brothers: We Love Pakistan, because Pakistan people look after us very well when we visit Panja Sahab each year in Hassan-Abdal in Pakistan. We hope that very soon we oppressed Sikhs will gain independece from Indian Hindu Establishment and have our own Republic of Khalistan. Then we will start a new chapter of Excellent relations with our Pakistani Brothers. Together, Khalistan and Pakistan can then teach a lesson to Hindu India.

  16. All Pakistani Brothers: We Love Pakistan, because Pakistan people look after us very well when we visit Panja Sahab each year in Hassan-Abdal in Pakistan. We value the hospitality of Pakistani people.

We hope that very soon we oppressed Sikhs will gain independece from Indian Hindu Establishment and have our own country, Republic of Khalistan. Then we will start a new chapter of Excellent relations with our Pakistani Brothers. Together, our two countries of Khalistan and Pakistan can then teach a lesson to Hindu India.

  17. The point behind achieving a sovereign state of our own is to gain equal rights and not be treated like second-class citizens. And not to, “Together, our two countries of Khalistan and Pakistan can then teach a lesson to Hindu India.”

Its a shame that you think that way, you quoted Guru Arjan Dev Jee in your previous post. I suggest you read more baanee by him and come to the conclusion that vengeance is pointless. Once you’ve achieved your objective why would you go against India. Yes, we’ve had it bad from them but why do we forget we have helped build that country from the ground up and if not gotten the credit we deserved, we have still have lived a legacy there.

In no way, does that trump the need for Khalistan though. But I am afraid until most of us don’t change some of our views that are not inline with Sikhi, we will never secure self-rule and even if we do we’ll lose it in days. Devotion to God, Compassion and forgiveness for all, universality and intelligence are what will set us apart not hating on Hindus.

Being buddy-buddy with one side has never given us anything. Its not a particular religion that we’re against. We’re against oppressors. Pakistan is mostly composed of Muslims, looking at your history there have been betrayals coming from both Hindus and Muslims, more so from the so called “Muslims”, so I don’t understand how you can side with one of them? The point is to be sovereign, have no allegiances except to the One God. We support whoever is just, and hack the oppressors. That, I think is the point of Khalistan.

  18. on top of that… have you read the news lately, Sikhs in Pakistan are getting F*$#%^ by the Taliban apparently? Ummm Pakistani hospitality? Point being we’re getting screwed from both sides and we’re stuck in the middle.

  19. Dear Brother: We all struggle for independent Khalistan. I understand ur point. But Hindus treated us so cruelly over 62 years. Atleast Muslims didn’t destroy Golden Temple. I know the Taliban forcing Sikhs to leave their homes in Pakistan, but it is not the state policy of Pakistan. Pakistan government is itself fighting taliban. You been to Panja Sahab in Pakistan? The Pakistanis really treat us good and look after our holy shrine. You go there, they take care of all sort of necessities of Sikh pilgrims. They provide enough security. And Pakistani Punjabi ppl are also friendly to Sikhs. Whereas in India, persecution and oppression of Sikhs was and still is policy of India government. Brother, we should see difference here. Yes we need independent Khalistan free from any foreign interference, but we must also be good to those who have been good to us.

  20. @Khalistan Commando Force

“”"Whereas in India, persecution and oppression of Sikhs was and still is policy of India government.”"”

Sooo true! This is why Indian PM is a Sikh and almost all influential posts in Indian Army are held by Sikhs.
