Implications of PPP, PML(N) Carve-up

By Ali Yar Khan • Aug 25th, 2008 • Category: Politics • No Responses

Whatever happened on 3rd November cannot be justified. It was illegal, unconstitutional and unprincipled and one of the last cries of dictator and the reason why coalition broke was because one partner wanted to retain the echoes of those cries on the whims of international stakeholders and while the other wasn’t feeling that much attachment to those ghostly reverberations.

Judges are not going to restored, and PML-N along with Jamat-e-Islami, Tehrik-e-Insaf, lawyers, splintering shards of PML-Q and with some other small time players would sit in opposition and would see PPP self destruct itself as PPP would follow the orders of Uncle Sam and Zardari would secure his NRO.

There are many silver linings to the breakups of the coalition. Above all the certainty in the country has ended and now people know who stands where. Along with that now PPP has no strings attached. There is no Musharraf now and there is no binding with the PML-N, and now PPP cannot put blame to the friends or to the foes. It has got free ground to play and he has to show its mettle now.

Musharraf also got the same situation. He had the free ground to play, and  he had plenty of greenbacks and continuous supply of resources and the full “Asheerbad” of US and UK. PPP has also got all of those things and it has also got the support of political parties like MQM, ANP and some of others and PML-Q is always there. There is no excuse for PPP either now, and if they fail they won’t even get a chance to resign.
