Holland Politican Broadcasts Movie Against Quran
By The Pakistani Spectator • Jan 22nd, 2008 • Category: Politics • 39 CommentsOnce again, a needless provocation is about to unleashed by the Europeans against Muslims. Once again, world should get ready for the bloody riots in different cities of the world, and once again a new needless international crisis would begin.
In the Holland, a radical right-wing politician, this week, is broadcasting a provocative anti-Muslim film, which will broadcast broadcast images of the Quran being torn up and otherwise desecrated. This will surely result in repetition of the crisis sparked by the publication of cartoons of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in a Danish newspaper two years ago.
Then they ask why terrorism breeds in the Muslim world? When they start offending our faiths, what do they expect in return? If they don’t respect their religion and their religious personalities and even God, they must not think that the whole world is like them. We love our God, our Prophet and our faith. This is intolerance, high-handedness and terrorism on the part of Dutch politicians. He is more disgusting than Osama Bin Laden and he deserves severe punishment.
The spineless and shameless Geert Wilders, one of nine members of the extremist VVD (Freedom) party in the 150-seat Dutch lower house, has promised that his film will be broadcast - on television or on the internet - whatever the pressure may be. In November 2004, fury and violence followed the stabbing and shooting by a Dutch teenager of Moroccan parentage of the controversial film-maker Theo Van Gogh, a distant relative of the artist. The artist offended the Muslim by a very disparaging painting.
Why they do such nefarious and needless acts every after few months? Is it some kind of litmus test for the Muslims? We respect Christianity and their religious figures, and we respect all other religions. We have never made a movie or cartoon derogating their faith, then why they do it with us? Moderate and sensible Christians (which are there in majority of numbers) must come forward and stop these fanatics and terrorists.

In any democratic society freedom of the press must be properly balanced with civic responsibility, particularly at a time when the world seems to be engaged in a “war of ideology. These are the times when we all should foster harmony, rather than creating “needless” movies.
I think these anti-Islamic movement by right-wingers of other religions is quite helpful for muslims because it makes many people curious to find out truth. 9/11 which started a war against Muslims initially target Islam by giving bad impression about it. Saudi Hijackers, talibans and then madarasahs. this propaganda is all part of global war initiated by right wing neo-cons. As Allah said in Surah Al-e-Imran that “They planned,Allah planned and Allah is the best planner”, so process got reversed and more non-Muslims become Muslims and ignorant Muslims like me got curious further about Quran and Islam thingie and started reading about it.So i always thank to our Mr.Bush that he created something like Alqaeda or Osama and then our so called liberals who have been busy here and there to throw up the stuff which is fed to them by westerners. Because of them many people were forced to find out the real thing about Islam and Quran. as I sent a URL to Ghazala about an Australian that how he got converted to a religion(Islam) which he didn’t study before because it was a religion of terrorist in his eyes.
So, we should not be worried at all what non-Muslims ,liberals do propaganda, just try to do our part to share anything about religion with others as this was said by our Prophet(saw) as well.
sorry for this lengthy rant. Bye
Leaving aside your laughable and barbaric assertion that people who make movies are terrorists, lets examine your statement that “we have never made a movie or cartoon derogating their faith…”. Check out this Palestinian cartoon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEYE-X32Znk
I suppose getting Mickey Mouse to say “I will annihilate all Jews” is a great example of Muslim tolerance. In fact, it is this hatred shown by Muslims, coupled with unrelenting terrorism (of the killing people kind, not of the making movies kind) that made Theo Van Gogh’s movie, the Danish cartoons and all other attempts to explore why Muslims have adopted suicide bombings, repression of women and hatred of other religions, so sorely needed.
I also hope you realize that you and other Muslim who can’t handle this movie or any other movie you don’t like, have an option other than killing, rioting and bombings. You can simply turn off the channel. It is very revealing that you have already decided that the Muslim reaction to this movie will be violent. By saying that you have shown that Muslims cannot respond to the movie with logic and arguments, they automatically turn to guns. I also find it very revealing that you think a filmmaker and the politicians who promote it are worse than a person responsible for thousands of murders. What a fine sense of morality you have.
I was offended by the actual movie as well but “Then they ask why terrorism breeds in the Muslim world? When they start offending our faiths, what do they expect in return?” is a rather careless statement. I am kinda repulsed by how you tried to justify terrorism on this basis. The movies and cartoons are wrong but so are suicide bombings in mosques … and for that matter, even in churches. There is no way you can quantitatively justify any right in terrorism.
Maybe we should learn something from Gandhi and his peaceful protests and condemnation of the wrong rather than justifying why we start to burn whenever someone lights a match. Just an opinion !
I posted this “tongue in cheek piece” on my site a few weeks ago…….!
STOP ISLAMIZATION OF EUROPE. Muslims Agree on this plan outlined here!
Chasing Windmills and eliminating Islamic influences from Europe: Rebuttal “supporting” Geert Wilders–
Geert Wilders sees Islamic influences all around him in the Netherlands. We agree with him. The Netherlands is awash in Islamic symbols and influences. He can take steps to eradicate these immediately. Part of Mr. Geert’s agenda is to ban the Quran, limit and reverse Muslim immigration to the Netherlands. Perhaps as a precursor to banning the Quran and reducing Muslim immigration Geert Wilders should begin eliminating existing Muslim influences in the Netherlands.
1) Let us start with Tulips. Tulips (from the original Turkish “Topi Lale”) are of Islamic Turkish origins and a tulip flower represents the Arabic word “Allah” in Arabic. See “Tulipomania”. Geert Wilders should eliminate all tulips from the Netherlands. I feel sorry for Geert. Each time he sees a tulip he gets infuriated because it displays “Allah” in Arabic. To Arabs the Rose is called “flower of Muhammad” and the Arabic word Muhammad is seen in the rose. Greet should ban roses from Netherlands also.
2) Sugar (from the Arabic “sukkar”) was brought back by the Crusades from Muslim Jerusalem. Geert Wilders should ban all sugar from the Netherlands.
3) Windmills were developed as a result of Muslim technology developed in Muslim Spain, Ottomans and the Arabs. Geert Wilders should immediately ban all windmills in the Netherlands.
4) Stitched cloth was an Arab invention in Spain. Geert Wilders should immediately ban stitched cloth in Netherlands.
5) The English word “collegiate” is of Arabic origins from the Arabic “kulliat“. Oxford was formed by returning Crusader monks from Egypt that had seen the Middle Easter university called “Al-Azhar”. Geert Wilders should eliminate this Islamic influence in the Netherlands and ban all colleges in the Netherlands.
6) Since Beethoven and Baach were also influenced by Turkish and Muslim music (during the siege of Vienna and the interaction with the Ottomans), perhaps Mr. Wilders should ban music from the greatest musicians of our time and eliminate “symbols” and drums from all music because they were originally invented by Muslims. I would love to see Mr. Wilders facial expressions when he hears Beethoven’s 9th symphony “A la Turka”. Fleminca dancing is also of Turkish origin, so Mr. Wilder should ban it in the Netherlands.
7) Mr. Wilders should also ban Arabic words and symbols in the Netherlands. He should begin with banning the ” ‘Arabic’ numerals” (the numbering system used by the world) and revert back to the Roman numeral system. He should also ban Chemistry (Al Chemia), Algebra (Al Gebran) and all words beginning with “Al” including Alchohol.
Most importantly Mr. Geert should ban hookas and hashish most of which comes from Muslim countires. The list is long, Croissants, Marsipan, the Dome structures of building, gothic architecture, trial by jury, paper, printing, gunpowder, the compass all have Islamic origins. Geert Wilders should eliminate all these from the Netherlands.
Muslims refuse to take foster parentage of the morass of foreign policy failures that perpetuate this cycle of blowback and violence
Hate sells and in this open hunting season on Muslims, hate mongering has done wonders for the career of some Talk Radio hosts.
About 6 decades ago the anachronistic “sippenhaft” was buried into the catafalque of history at Nuremberg. Collective guilt and punishment is an egregious violation of human rights and a war crime. It has no place in the land of the free and the home of the brave. Attempts to resurrect the desiccated sarcophagus of “collective guilt” (Japanese internment, Jewish Holocaust, Soviet Gulag) from the catacombs of depravation will fail. Muslims refuse to take foster parentage of the morass of foreign policy failures that perpetuate this cycle of blowback and violence. Empire building and Imperial hubris has repercussions. The powers to be have to think of the consequences of creating evil. The Frenkenstein monster like Rabbi Eliyahu of Chelm’s mythical Golen came after it’s maker. How many remember the lessons from the broomstick in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
We want to anathematize this mantra of “holding all Muslims responsible” for the actions of the scum that was nurtured in the augean stables of national corruption (CIA’s drug trade, Iran-Contra etc), trained as anti-communists in xenophobic camps during the 80s, and used as human cannon fodder against the USSR by the likes of the hedonistic Charlie Wilson who were luxuriating in leafy complexes on the Potomic. “Collective guilt” has reached its final destination in the sepulcher of chauvanism. The notion of “Mass apologies” (for the crimes of others) has to be eviscerated and buried deep in the polyandrium of bigoted Jingoism. You are responsible for your actions and so am I. I am not responsible for the actions of everyone in New Jersey. I am also not responsible for the actions of everyone who claims to be a Muslim.
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Some misquote the Quran and then builds the case about the entire religion. One could do the same for the Bible, picking up a few lines from Deuteronomy or Numbers and then making a case about the entire religion-bringing up Blood Libel and the Holocaust etc.

I disagree with Moin Ansari. Just because a word is from Arabic, it means it has to have something Islamic attached to it? I dont think so. Just because they were better able to adapt to new cultures, languages and words, means they are in some way obliged to pay homage to the original creators? I dont think so.
In todays age, this proposition is totally absurd. The proposition that just because it came from Muslims or was Islamic, they totally reject. If done on this side of the world, I can only wonder as to how far behind we will be left. Information today is as free as air, and the ability to use it wisely for ones purpose is anyones.
Lets think a little before going ballistic on Mr. Greet. He might be against Quran or whatever. A barking dog needs this attention we afford him. Is he really worth this much time of ours? Is he really our worry for the time, and not those religious fanatics who are doing us more harm than by blowing themselves up in markets and mosques?
@Bubs: where were you my friend when zealots Christians were burning hospitals and clinics because they though the clinics are main source of abortion?
Come out from imaginary world which is far different than real world.
s/were you/were you hiding
I think terrorist Geert needs public trial for inciting terrorism and extremism. He should be banned from travelling to any civilized state and his trial should be held at UN. He is a man who endagers the humanity with his acts.
I dont understand that talking about Holocaust and challenging the event is punishable crime while humiliating billions of Muslims make you win 9 seats in the Parliament of Netherland. Aren’t these countries also a just case for being called “Terrorists breeding Grounds” the way they call Afghanistan. The only thing is that they got extra dollars in their pocket to silent the world. Indeed its a shameful day for Muslims how easily our religion is targetted by the terrorists to gain some cheap popularity. Lets all condemn them. I have also written a blog on my site to condemn this terrorist.

In order to understand why people are doing things like this we need to understand where they are coming from “their mentality” we keep referring to the holocaust and other events of barbarism in the history of the west but keep forgetting they are not occurring at the moment!!!
What this politician fears is the takeover of his country and way of life by a religion alien to him, by a culture he is afraid of. Perhaps he even sees this as a passive invasion of his homeland.
We can condemn him and others like him all we want and they can condemn us..it will not solve anything. What we all need to realize is that this world is a place today which has few boundaries and places unexplored. We are all part of one huge global community living in differing conditions according to our economic and social norms. We must accept all of these people and religions as part of one community first.. and then try to find ways to co exist. If that means we have to come to some sort of compromise in our religions we must… i know everyone is thinking what do you mean compromise… it means cut back on the flag waving banner in yr face kind of religion.. if you move to a country which is predominantly Christian then expect some compromises..just like a Christian does in say Karachi. We do not allow their religion to flourish in Pakistan do we? so how can we expect the same from them? and cry bloody murder when they launch a movie… we burn churches..is that better?
Its either this or all out war.. the choice is ours.
Islamic influences are “corrupting” Europe. I suggest that Mr. WIlders get rid of Topi Lale (Tulips) and Windmills that are of Muslim origin. Tulips were imported from Turkey and led to Tulipomani in Euripe where Tulips were sold for $100,000 etc. This Islamic influence has to be banished from Holland.
WIndmills were created by Muslims. Mr. WIlders should eliminate all Windmills from Holland.
http://moinansari.wordpress.com
its not just the name….these ideas and materials were imported to “corrupt” Europe…get rid of them….Tulips, WIndmills, Stitched cloth, Beethoven’s music (9th symphony), collegies (from kulliat) and anything Californinan (named after Caliph Haronia) or anythign from Traffelgar (Tarf ul Gir)…
…..you don’t get it….it is one humanity and one civilization…these artificial dykes are useless and not beneficial!
…they more they speak up the more coversions he inspires…
Hey! Geert….remember Indonesia…still want it back?
God Bless Mr. Geert, and God bring him to the right path…one day he will see the light…
James has a great message.
But as for the blog, I dont think Christians have much say in Netherlends either, there are less than 10% Christians there anyways, most of them have stepped into Atheism, which they call stepping into the 21st Century. They dont have respect, they are cold blooded creatures, insults on a religion according to them should be taken very lightly and very ‘openly’. Ofcourse, criticism is welcome and is a basic for a free speech community but insulting is what they want to be countede as their right, especially if done against religion.
This VVD party in general, has not done this only now. Thing is that they see a tormented, propagandary definitoin of Islam and Quran, verses quoted out of context, at times incomplete sentences etc and these guys are too darn scared of Islam and think Islam is about world domination, so their counter is justified on their beliefs. IF we want to tackle them, we have to spread the message better, best way to do that, is to improve our own selfs and thus our own societies…
Acts like this bring clear to the world the real faces behind the masks that the so called civilized world is wearing. Freedom of expression does not mean going out of mind and derogating what is not your ideology.
@Bubs
Every action has a reaction, and before putting anything on the Muslims you should first see who began this all. Shouldn’t it be strange that a man’s denial of holocaust so cause so much rage while the world may expect the repeated acts of denigrating a major religion of the world to go unnoticed?
what ever ppl say about islam, what everthey do shows their mentality. so no worries, but when muslims do not say any thing to any one’s religion then why the hell they r doing such discusting things? any way islam is becoming second largest religion in USA, France. but one thing more they read the holly book Quran and they got to know what islam is. im mulsim but i believe wahta them made to embrace islam is not the current muslim but the teaching of islam and after reading Quran.
anyway one more thing that if there is something goe wrong muslims do not kill any other religion person in their country but unlike the USA ppl. 9/11 incident there were many attacks on muslims who live in usa. my cusin was the vitim of that.
the medi and othe rppl say that muslims r terrorist but is any onw know what terrorism is there is no praticular defination of it but acording to me
A definition of terrorism is:
UNUNIFORMED people fighting against uniformed people—WAR
UNUNIFORMED people killing Civilians – STATE TERRORISM
CIVILIANCE killing uniformed people—GORILLA
CIVILIANS killing Civilians – Terrorism
for me terrorism is a politocal motivated act ( as bin Laden– jut remember te 9/11 what come on to ur mind picture of twin tower an dbin laden am i wrong?)
Leaving aside many things I disagree with in the Pakistani Spectactor’s posting for a moment, I like to start by poiting at 2 facts that are in contradiction with it:
1. Geert Wilders is not a member of the VVD party. The VVD (People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy) is a moderate, right-wing liberal party, currently holding 21 out of 150 seats in Dutch lower house. Geert Wilders used to be an MP for this party, but was kicked out, primarily due to his stance on Turkey joining the EU (he opposes this). He then founded his own party, the PvdV (Party for Freedom), that obtained 9 seats in last elections. Geert Wilders’ PvdV holds more radical views on Islam than the VVD does.
2. There is no movie yet, nor has a date for airing it been set, nor has Geert Wilders said much about the content. All that is being stated in this posting about this movie (in particular that it would contain images of the Quran being torn up and otherwise desecrated) is pure speculation. Geert Wilders has previously said that muslims should tear out all violent pages of the Quran, and that this would leave a very thin Quran. However, there has been no indication that this would actually be done in his movie.
Then beyond the mere facts: I find the Specator’s posting extremely disturbing. The disturbing thing for me is that the Spectator seems unable to understand to huge moral difference between voicing an opinion (however provocative it may be) and committing actual physical violence against a person. I sincerely belief that peace is impossible without appreciating the difference.
Holland is a democratic free country and no subject including religions should
be off the table as an object for critical evaluation. Of course, some people will disagree with the movie and they have full right to argue and present their point of view. If a movie criticising Buddhism would appear the movie director would not be receiving death threats. Buddhists are not violent and we did not hear about Buddhist riots when Taliban government destroyed historical Buddha figures in Afghanistan. One can conclude that some religions create peacefull believers and some very violent.
I think that it is a very wrong to compare Osama bin Laden and the Dutch movie director. Osama is a murderer who killed in several hours about 3000 innocent people. The Duch movie director killed nobody .He may be politically incorrect but no harm or mass murder has resulted from his movie.
Muslims should peacefully write a response to the movie and explain why they think it is wrong. This would be an example of a reasonable reaction by believers in a peaceful religion. If they react violently they will prove that the movie evaluation of Isalm is correct.
janus and Frans…one small quesiton to show your hypocracy.
How about releasing the “Holocaust deniers”? Why is that a crime?
Can you shout “fire” in a crowded theater?
I think Hans and Janusz don’t get it.
God Bless them!
Keep provoking Muslims…and Islam will keep on growing!
I wonder why Europe can produce such bigots, and animals like Hilter and create such violence like the world has never seen in recent history–Crusades, Colonialism, Holocaust, Burning 9 million women, Communism, Stalinism, 100 year wars, 50 million killed in the 2nd tribal war of Europe, and 15 million killed in the First tribal war of Europe (the one in black and white!)
Must be the soil and this “strange” thinking!
To all Dutch ctizens:
Respectfully Sir/Madam, kindly answer just one question…..
1) If you support the right to free speech without any limits then why is it illegal to deny the holocaust?
There is no answer to this simple question which has been repeatedly asked on this site and and all other sites.
The answer that we have heard from Holland is is… err..ump…well…you know….ummmmm….yeah…its like ziz you know….freedom of speech…freedom of speech…freedom of speech…unt you don’t understand zis….right to defend bad speech…uh, not good in English…. haven’t you forgotten v vere in Indonesia….Freedom?…we din’t remember it then…hmmmm!…colonialisim? wazz is zat?….. oh!… Ummmm …well…hunh!….Sukarno?…vho waz he?…freedom freedom we didn’t believe in it then……..freedom of speech…freedom of speech…Hitler was Austrian…ummm..errr..can you repeat the question…
The real answer is rampant, blatent and pervasive Islamphobia in Dutch society since the 15th century: period.
….admit it and we can all get along and move ahead!….I hear the construction of the ovens is going well!!
Just answer the question.
