The letter of the Establishment Division bearing No 1/64/2008-E-6, dated June 30, 2008, says that:
Dr. Shahid Masood would get:
- Would get Rs 700,000 per month as salary
- His house rent would be Rs 150,000
- Utility allowances Rs 25,000
- Salary would be raised by Rs 50,000 per annum
- Free mobile phone
- Two residence telephones
- One fax
- Business class tickets would be given for the national and international travels
- Recreational allowance would be given
- Would be paid Rs 50,000 extra

Now I’ll not question some one with mentioning his/her name and just ask that “Do U know when Dr. Shahid is being to kicked out from PTV….?”………….plz as others don’t know all the truth same maybe U’r unaware of that………The way he came)(The way he’ll leave…..we are here and we’ll cee. What is the whole big issue here? So what if this man is getting such a high salary! He is just trying to make up for not practicing medicine! Though, I do have doubts of how good of a medical doctor he was. No good medical doctor is willing to stop practicing medicine to become a talk show host.

i don’t know what is truth but i know simply one thing that he has gotten one of the most high profile job of PTV. …….just for a pro gramme he was taking 2 n half lacs or more …just for a single show….compare it with this job of MANAGING DIRECTOR…..

Everything is fine, weather is cloudy and pleasant, in Toronto, not better than Alberta, of course. I agree with you, for my use of unnecessary harsh language. We all Pakistani are sensitive and emotional, I am not an exception, but we all must grow up. Pakistan has larger problems, and Shahid Masood is not one of them.
I don’t mind, and I do care.

I think he has show his character by accepting the offer from Mr10% and his business partner like Rahman Malik, Farooq Naik and others. He accepting offr from non elected people and we all should send our condemnation in all forums. Specially I would like to say to Ali Yar Khan for expossing this issue on this forum.

Hope that things are gonna well at your side. So coming to my point…jumping from one media organization to other is a part of the media game…but when U’r standing to defand a motive and suddenly leave the band and step back…..then ? Why not any other journalist was offered such a post…I hope U’ll try to find the answer. He was not the only scholar around….then why only he…?
One thing more…guys in the disscusion are not wasting their energies…at leat they’re not watching movies or playing play stations games. And as much as I know people visit this site don’t come around just to surf they belong to respectable organizations….I think its a positive activity.

Hi Touba TOuba Why you are so disapponited with him. We are sick people, we dont do anything ourselves, and start believing any body our Nakhuda on higher Positions, let the poor guy do his job. He has not commited any crime, and free to join any TV Station he likes. He is not paid by your taxes.

mein soch bhi nahi sakti thi k Dr.Shahid Masood aisa kareyn gy.mein ney ajj AAJ Tv ka programme dekha’ bolta pakistan’.,to us mein yeh mohtaram aye thy phone pey.mere aankhun sey aansoo nikal aye, k jib\s sakhs ko mein ney itna idealise kiya jis ke sach ko sun ker meri apni soch badal gai.jis ko mein ajke zamney mein wahid sach aur haq ki roshni maanti rahi,woh shaks itnA kmazor nikley ga, k PTV jaisey bikey huye sarkari tatoo ko join ker ley ga,apney asoolun ko bech dey ga. mein roz socti thi k aakhir kiya baat hai Hamid Mir ka naaam sab letey hein GEO Tv pey k uska programme bann hua ,,,aur DR,Shahid ko koi yaad kiya naam tak nahi leta..aj maloom hua k sach ki koi sunwai nahi..mujhey nafrat honey lagi hai…afsos ho rah hai k kiun hum jaisey log bar bar sach aur haq ki awaz k naam pey dhoka khatye hein.

Dr Shid has don alot for this nation and still he is doing.Its very unfortunate that we people r very quick in making oppinion .My friend mention the package,dear its a very little package for such an intelletual.Such people always give a thought to a nation,if he been living some where else nation he may b a think tank,changing the world map and getting a big reward that as a nation we can not give to such people.We can only discourge them even he is giving a new lines to journalism……

Well this is PTV’s pacakage. What about the once he was getting before & now from backdoors or under the table from corrupt politicians, oppositions, Mr.10%, Taxi scam gem,agencies etc etc.
Well done Dr, you also played with the people of pakistan like corrupt politician and created chaos situation through media in pakistan. Look it now where is poor men of pakistan, what happen to our foreign reserves, investment? you and like you still gave pakistan and people of pakistan this by your negative journalism for the nation through media. We were going good before 1 year lot of investments,jobs etc.
People of pakistan are dieing and former cheif justice is smiling, they really want to give any think to pakistan???

I was much impressed from him but one of his old friend usually opposed me on his topic. Usually he says Dr. Shahid Masood’s selling price is much higher but I didn’t aggreed with views and says he is not for sale. Alas his friend (still he is my friend too) was right & I was wrong.

Dr. Shahid Maood has done very bad. He chose money for his fame and honesty. I still miss his programmes. It was a shock for me when I heard that he joined PTV. Good for him but it would be short lived. After this, he wouldn’t be able to regain his fame again. He spoiled his career in my opinion. I wonder if he is under pressure!
I still wish him back but Alas! he wouldn’t listen to me. (Why would he, his ears and eyes are covered with money now).
Good luck Shahid Masood. I don’t want to say him a Doctor anymore!

He was like that and he has lived up to his reputation.Knowing him from his JPMC(jinnah post graduate medical centre) days it could be safely said that he is smart cunning and a BORN BLACKMAILER.Thats what he is good at he couldnt get his postgraduation done in surgery and was a failed proffessional.He opted for a lucrative proffession with more nuisance value and grabbed the oppertunity when it was there.Every thing has a price and Dr Masood is sold quite CHEAP
