Has GEO failed to Overhaul the Government?
By zulfiqar • Dec 3rd, 2009 • Category: Politics • One ResponseSince the election of President Asif Ali Zardari as the president of Pakistan, some elements in media (95% of them from GEO and Jang group) has used every medium from paper to electronic to bash at the government. There one point agenda was not to topple the government but to replace President and some of his companions.
Those companions included Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Salman Farooqui, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and some other ministers and also ambassadors to United States and United Kingdom. It seems that the idea was to pump Premier Gilani to revolt and then replace president Zardari by anyone from Sindh. At one point GEO hyped up Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, and it was thought that he could be the choice for replacing Zardari.
GEO never really bashed at MQM. They remained silent on the massacre of 12th May and they never raised any hue and cry when MQM burned lawyers alive in Karachi. They never talked about the murder and corruption cases upon the MQM leaders from top to bottom, when over-whelming majority of the cases belonged to the MQM under NRO.
Still the GEO team is trying hard to extract meanings from day to day working of the government but it seems that they have got the message from the people and the establishment and the opposition parties. Nobody except GEO wants to disrupt the system.
And yes, GEO administration must understand that it’s not they who will be deciding that who will rule Pakistan, rather it will be us, the people of Pakistan. It was evident in the Gilgit-Baltistan election where people voted for PPP despite of all the hell raised by some anchorpersons and so-called political analysts.

Zardari govt dont need to overhaul and nor it is job of Geo to mend it
it was an expired system and extremly hazardous for state security if would continue its actions in critical matters.
It was declared corrupt and incompetent group and planted on our decision making positions for specific purpose.Karzai and zardari are demand of US to support them in military operation and that is why they are here.
Geo is just transmitting the sentiments of people.
Instead of blame game come to point it is not Geo but who all media groups except owned by state have started its target to zardari govt not to overhaul it but just to get rid of it.
This ambition of street people was obvious at long march event but here came the kiyani to rescue him as our army was in need of these handicapped politicians for their disorderly war games.
