Green and White

By The Pakistani Spectator • Oct 18th, 2007 • Category: Uncategorized • 13 Comments

I believe tough times are upon us and amidst this unwanted melodrama that we are victims to these days being Pakistanis, we need a reminder of who we are and what our identity stands for. I posted this last year on my blog and I believe it can serve as a fitting reminder to be strong and remember who we are.

I believe all of us need to come together and for once, be Pakistanis ! We need some Iman, Ittehad and Tanzeem and we need some more Green and White in our lives !

Whatever we are, are because of you.
You bring us together as one.

You Unite Us !
You give us pride in what we are.
Lahorigirl
And what we do.
14th August
And you give us humble love.
Humble Love
You bring us together.
Together under two colors : Green and White.
Together under one identity : Pakistanis
We look good in your shadow
You complete us !
Long Live my Love ! Forever till eternity.

    Saba Ali Says:

Inspired by the teachings of Islam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, warned the landlords and capitalists against accumulation of the country’s wealth and control of natural resources and their flourishing at expense of the masses by a vicious and wicked system, which made them so selfish that it was difficult to reason with them. As a leader of freedom movement, he told the Muslim Leaguers in April 1943 that the exploitation of the masses had gone into the blood of the feudalists and capitalists, they had forgotten the lessons of Islam, greed and selfishness had made these people subordinate to the interests of others in order to fatten themselves. What the architect of Pakistan said more than four years before achieving Pakistan remained true afterwards, except for the period of time Liaquat Ali Khan served the country as its first prime minister (he was assassinated on 16 October 1951 in Rawalpindi). The people’s dream was shattered: millions of them got one meal a day and exploitation continued as usual: the landlords and capitalists did not adjust themselves to the new conditions of life. Was this the aim of Pakistan?

    Kamil Paracha Says:

The country seems marching backward instead of forward: it only needs the continuity of thought and action boosted by the people’s fervour, which some politicians, in collaboration with religious leaders, want to break for their personal gain.

Pakistan, today is passing through a unique phase of its history. It is capable of grasping the bright prospects for development. On the other hand, it is confronting challenges in the form of extremism and terrorism
