Future Prime Minister of Pakistan
By Amna Gilani • Feb 18th, 2008 • Category: Pakistan Vote'08, Politics, Worth A Second Look • (722 views) • No ResponsesIf PML-Q wins the elections, then Pervaiz Elahi will be the Prime Minister, if PML-N or PPP wins then who will be the premier? We dont know for sure. From PPP, it could be Makhdoom Amin Fahim, or it could be Shah Mehmood Qureshi, or even Mr. Zardari himself. If PML-N wins, then it could be Javed Hashmi, or it could be Raja Zafarul Haq, or it could be either of the two Sharif brothers.
But whoever it is, I want to see my premier a real change from the past. I would love to see that my premier could really rock the world with his dynamics and innovation. Just image Pakistan having a Prime Minister who can move with agility and fluidity among the heads of established power. Who is among her peers. Who masters the best known circles of important decision-makers. Who has the best direct experience of the behind-the-curtains maneuvers that influence any corridor of power. Who can effortlessly and elegantly expose the most intricate details of his plan for social welfare, education, law and order, employment, development, economy and health.
Who is an inspiring politician. Whose attention is focused primarily on the lower-level people, who are in majority in Pakistan. Who is revered and is sincerely welcome by the youth, and the educated higher middle class. Who is being promoted by people from various extractions, and who always appeals to his voters, to the citizenry in general who are in need of help, and with whom he establishes strong ties.
My future Prime Minister is perhaps imaginary, and we have to do with either of the above mentioned figures.
