Fraud With Swat IDPs : Kidnapping of Girls : Robbings
By Amna Gilani • May 15th, 2009 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 31 CommentsWhere the over-whelming majority of the people are reaching out and trying to help in their own way according to their capacity in need of hour, there are some black sheeps with steely hearts, who are robbing the Internally Displaced People from Swat, Buner and Dir. This is extremely horrendous and very much sad and heart-wrenching.
Just like there appeared tragic and shocking stories after the earth quake of 2005 in Kashmir, stories are appearing out of Mardan, Swabi and even from the Islamabad. Some satans kidnapped girls from the camps of victims and sold them to brothels, some killed the ladies and cut their arms to get the gold bangles, some cut the ears and throats of female dead bodies to get jewellery and there are many such incidents.
Some similar stories are appearing from the camps set up for the internally displaced people of Swat and Buner. Individuals and groups are active in these camps. These evil people are on the look out to exploit the hapless people who are already suffering. They kidnap girls from the camps. They tell the families short on food, shelter, medicine and clothes that they are taking their kids to show to the donors outside the camps and when the kids would return, they would have enough money to ease their sufferings. Kids never return, especially the girl kids.
Though some NGOs and welfare organizations are doing their best to help out the people, many many have sprung up over night. These NGOs are reaching out to the international donors to get donations in the name of IDPs and these donations are going directly to the evil pockets. These fake NGOs are exploiting the people. They even show the victim families to the donors, and then give peanuts to the victims from the donations and rest goes to their bank accounts.
So it is the need of the hour that society as a whole combat such evil NGOs, people and groups. National and International donors must not give donations to the individuals and unknown NGOs. They should best give our their donations through Islamic Relief Pakistan, Red Crescent, Red Cross, United Nations, Edhi Foundation, Al-Khidmat Foundation and to the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s fund.

Two days back a friend of mine from Peshwar NGO had gone one of camp along with stoves and water cooler.She couldnt reach the camp as a group of looters had attacked on her little convoy.She had to call local nazim for her protection .So its people of Pakistan who are rushing there but state writ is completely absent from scene to even protect these NGO workers.The actual problem is from way to peshwar to takh bai or from taxila to mardan, you can find hundreds of poor colonies along side roads.So these hungry people miss no chance of grabbing these so called luxurious passing to IDPs through their route.
One who is not local can adopt some precautionary steps who are moving there for some kind of real social job
Move in such areas usually from 9 pm to 5 pm.
Lady volunteers should follow the dress code of locals.
dont take expensive electronics or small gold items along with them as presentation of such items to general public would be vulnerable to attack on them for loot purpose.
keep in touch with local police or know person of these areas as soon as one enters in premises of NWFP.
If one is carrying truck of groceries then there is no harm of taking small army convoy with them to avoid attack of locals.Malakand fort army setup could be contacted for this purpose.

Nice post but, isnt it irronic that we try to avoid some hungry people to feed some hungry people as u put it yourself,

Your question should be asked to our military gods for their worst planning of pushing these IDPs toward such areas that are already facing deprivation of civic life owing to our corrupt system of governance.
If we have well planner in our disaster management cells then such type of mass movemnt could be done toward upstream of of manshera or down valleys of chitral.Here temperature is much better than this mardan belt and water resources are abundant and these families can easily be adjusted near river stream that are flowing in maximum capacity in these summers.Only those people should had been allowed to enter in Mardan district ,who have relative circles there .But as usual settled people and displaced people are being hit by poor mangement of our rulers.
Now as per your question we have to provide these IDPs with basic necesities, otherwise they would move forward for their survival toward urban sides and our urban sides are not so absorbent to accomodate these furious people as all are blaming govt and army people for this man made disaster.It would be another security threat for both groups as here rackets of women, child kidnapping, kidney stolen gangs, blood sucking mafia or even human smgglers can use them as their less paid agents in this time of helplessness.
Nazia, you should donate your both kidneys & get Imran Khan to donate his both kidneys that can save 4 useful lives in exchange for two useless like yours. This way you have not only helped 4 needy useful Pakistanis, but also yourselves to relieve you of all your mental problems here & immediate placement in ‘Paradise’ - imagine what a wonderful company for you both.
Before you do that, you still have the option of letting the ‘two gentemen’ provide you the ’service’ you need most.

you again speak little but accurately.These IDPs and population of related areas are tolerating this azaab due to poor management of rulers and our high profile skills of army who started their large scale combat mission without conspiring SOP for handling such huge population.Is it our army or sent troops of NATO who never give single thought of organized displacement of huge population before planning such an aggressive attack on thickly populated areas?.

Human trafficking comes out of poverty and IDPs are the favourite hunting ground for paedophiles,pimps etc etc who thrive on this human sufferring. These vultures immidiately pounce upon the innocents.

thanks for your concern.We have to live with bitter realities but it is notable that such kind of abuses are usually being done by the class who always claim themselves as one of educated and liberal class of our system.

I came down with an illness that no one can seem to diagnose to this very day. It started with me urinating a lot for about many days. After that I had a stomach ache that lasted for days.
