Focussed Statements By Barack Obama
By Ali Yar Khan • Jul 22nd, 2008 • Category: Politics • (3,684 views) • 2 CommentsThe mounting attacks on the NATO forces in Afghanistan has given enough ammunition to the Afghan and US officials to blame and suspect respectively the militants in the tribal region of Pakistan. After every attack on the NATO forces or on the Afghan forces, the Afghan President blames and threatens the Pakistan.
But NATO forces have never adopted the same threatening posture as of Hamid Karzai, but now the things are steadily changing, and with the recent visit of US presidential candidate Barack Obama, the scheme of things seem to be changing. Barack Obama has said that US is giving huge aid to the Pakistan, and there needs to be more pressure on Pakistan to shun the militancy factor in the tribal region, and he also added that America could do surgical operation in tribal belt if Pakistan fails to do so.
According to the media reports Barack Obama said that the situation in Afghanistan is very precarious and that it is time for the US to withdraw some of its troops out of Iraq and deploy them here in Afghanistan. Obama called for seven thousand troops or two brigades to be sent immediately to Afghanistan. Barack Obama also said that the extremist training camps in Pakistan would not be tolerated.
Now that’s the Bush talking once again all over. That’s the approach Bush adopted when he took the helm of affairs and made a mess of the world, and Obama is going to repeat the same mistake. Instead of getting to the root cause, he is just talking about symptoms. Could Obama’s statement be brushed off just a blabbing in election fever?

Comparing Iraq and Afghanistan is a grave error. So is comparing Obama and Bush. In both cases, the two are totally different. And Obama’s statements aren’t election hype. He’s talking about doing what should’ve been done in the first place. The Taliban should be wiped out whether they’re hiding in Afghanistan or Pakistan. Hopefully, Pakistan will take care of them on their side of the border although until now Pakistan has shown little backbone to do so. Obama is right on the mark when it comes to Afghanistan.

Mr. Jett:
You say that Taliban should be wiped out as if they are some sort of insects or fleas. Taliban movement was created so that some body could be used to fight USA’s fight against Russia. Such insensitivity to a creation of its own.
The shocks of that campaign are still being felt throughout our country, our economy and our people suffered and you say that we have shown little in fighting taliban.
I would love to hit you with the same commnets after some one near and dear to you dies in a bomb blast. Maybe then you shall understand what we have done in this so called war of terror and how we have suffered.
Talk is cheap.
