Encouraging Developments for democracy to sustain…!!!
By Faiz Aman • Dec 28th, 2009 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • One ResponseThe last two to three days have been very encouraging for Pakistan People’s Party’s position in the current situation where some ‘elements ‘ were hoping of ‘good news’ soon. Two to three supportive developments have ‘spoiled’ the mood of the ‘well wishers’ of the President Zardari and PPP. Ali Ahmed Kurd, leader of the lawyers’ movement during the judges’ issue, has come up with some astonishing statements after sitting quiet for some days that he is not satisfied with the decision of the Supreme Court.
He is of the view that Supreme Court has not acted according to the wishes of the people which the nation expected during their struggle. According to the former president of the Supreme Court of Pakistan the way the court has dealt NRO is not satisfactory and the court has shown bias in its verdict. According to Kurd the decision will not strengthen institutions in the country.
The people who were of the view that supporters of the PPP are the only oppositions of the SC verdict are requested to review their thoughts because this time it is not the PPP or its supporters but a key member of the lawyers’ movement has highlighted the shortcoming of the SC decision.
In another development the PML-N position about President Asif Ali Zardari has also been clear that they don’t want the President to resign. Talking to newsmen in Islamabad Chaudry Nisar Ali Khan, opposition leader in the National Assembly, said that they will not ask for the resignation of the President Zardari. They want the present system to complete their five years term. The critics say that the statement made by Nisar Ali Khan is the party position of PML_N which definitely goes in favor of President Asif Ali Zardari and his government which is definitely encouraging for the system to keep working.
The meeting of the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kyani and President Asif Ali Zardari is also another development in the current scenario. The meeting between the two heads has also made it clear to the ‘well wishers’ of the PPP and President Zardari that there are no chances of any ‘favorable development’ from the army at this stage. The most indigestible thing is that the army chief has shown his full support to the president and the government for strengthening democratic system in the country.
I think after these three main developments some people will be feeling uneasy but the situation is encouraging for the democratic process to sustain. The ‘miscreants’ were either wanting PML-N to start confrontation with PPP or they were looking once again towards the army to interfere to derail the system are definitely not happy at the moment. Also, the people who were considering December a decisive month for President Zardari are not ‘feeling well’ as the month of December is about to end without doing any damage to the presidency. Now we have to wait and see which new ‘month of departure’ is set by the “Pundits” this time for the President.

Feudal and corrupt political characters cant bring development in political structures in our system.
Our failed military strategies are contributing more in this retardation of system.
System weakness and irreparable flaws are highly demanding the change of leadership from all institutions. All have been failed to bring peace and stability in the country and in borders too so all should be step down and give chance to other team to bring new and fresh strategies to our dying system.
But who and how make understand this to our incompetent leadership.
Zardari missed this chance and gave way to military establishment and now when his mistakes are being pointed out he is behaving like injured snake and betting ready to bite who come to his way.
