Dr Sarfaraz Naeemi : Shaheed-e-Pakistan

By Rohail Butt • Jun 13th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 8 Comments

One of the ardent supporter of the military operation in the Malakand Agency, and one of the most argumentative and sane religiouis figure against the suicide attacks and the terrorism describes the great man Dr Sarfaraz Naeemi, who was martyred in a suicide attack in his office in Jamia Naeemia in Lahore after the Juma prayer.

Dr. Sarfaraz Naeemi was the head of the Tahafuzz-e-Namoos-e-Rasalat Movement and secretary-general of the Tanzimat Madaris Deeniya. Dr Sarfraz had also give a Fatwa against the suicide attacks in 2005 and he wasn’t liked by the extremists.

The loss of Dr Naeemi has created a huge vacuum which would be difficult to fill in the years to come. We need to carry on his message that terrorists are the enemies of Islam and Pakistan and we need to support our army in it’s pursuit to eliminate terrorism. We must not be deter by the cowardice of terrorism.

  1. But I wonder that why these Jewel in the crown of our renowned Islamic resolve who were the first to declare that Suicide attacks is non Islamic but their personal security was found non existent.

Surely the admin of Jamia Naeeemia must be held responsible that they failed to check the intruders. The suicide bomber happened to be the bona fide visitor who was sitting right across these clerics right in their office as follower and this stooge was also not checked prior to his meeting nor his visit is kept on record.

It is also seen that our cleric or the other people of their stature also stand responsible for compromising of such security issues. They like to be open in meetings to show it as their trait of humility.

  2. A very sad day indeed. Dr. Mufti Naeemi was a voice of moderation. His murder by Taliban Terrorists once again proves the rifts within the Sunni Moslems. In fact all Sunni and Shia Moslem schools of thought other than Deobandis are opposed to extremism and violence.

You will see that in the aftermath of this Moderate Cleric’s killing by Taliban, the rage of the people, who are already fed-up of bloody Taliban Terrorists, will turn towards Jamat-i-Islami Terrorist-Sympathizers. I’m telling you, people may even publically start lynching these bloody Jamatias all over the country very soon. In Karachi last year, students of Karachi University, who had grown fed up of activities of terrorist-Jamatias on their campus, set fire to a bus full of these bloody Jamatia-Terrorists. And I hear peace-loving students at Punjab university campus in Lahore have also started the liberation of their campuse from these land-grabber, terrorist Jamatias. And remember how people killed the bloody filthy notorious terrorist Azam Tariq. Believe me, I was in college those days in 2003 and we really celebrated that moment!

  3. I would hate to see pakistan become a police state as the aftermath are never pleasant for innocent
citizens. One sholud not lay the blame on the ulema or the admin of the jamia as the whole country
    is facing this unislamic bloodbath.

How can one protect oneself when one’s own country men become enemies and If the ulema become unapproachable, the knowledge of deen will become difficult to attain. One should look into history and see who were martyred in creating the state of pakistan.

What we need is a unified public and ulema front to defeat the enemies within, rather than blaming
one another for security lapses as these will never improve- (president, ministers, PM are not safe
when millions are spent on their security)

  4. We are living in a state of war! We need to confront the extremist sympathizers in our cities, to help prevent such painful incidents.

  5. No doubt he was a great scholar and Pakistan lost an other intellectual in the war against terrorism. We must think that Taliban is just a Long. People working behind this Logo are not loyal to Islam or country. They simply want to crush and finish every body, on top is Islamic Scholars.

Please think and get united against them. If USA is helping us in this war so what… Iran also took support from many countries during its war. No other country can harm so badly as our own black sheep.

Alas! we gets sympathetic when some one uses name of Islam but attacks on us from back. Allah bless us and give us wisdom to think positive and act accordingly.
