Dinning in Hotels

When there is a welcome or farewell party in the offices, meal with family or family guests and any other event, we often opt for a lunch or dinner at a selected hotel where we think the food quality is better than others in that locality. Have we ever thought about the quantity, which is being served in return of our hard-earned money.

We often go out for shopping especially near any holy event of celebration and may decide to dine at a location where we haven’t been yet. If one goes to such place and a waiter comes with a menu card. You select a combination of dishes a rice dish, some meat dishes or vegetable dish. While ordering you may also give a glance over the prices each dish ordered. If you are at a new dinning place with some guests and forgot to ask for the quantity of each dish while ordering. There are more chances that you may get embarrassed when the order is served. The quantity as per rates may not be as much as you are tamed for. And off-course you have to re-order more food to fulfill the requirement. At the end the bill is much on a higher side as foretold by your.

The reason is no menu card specifies the quantity of food in return of the stated price. For example if you order a rice dish, you never know how much quantity it shall contain, or in case of meat dish you cannot estimate the quantity of chicken, mutton or beef in it. Same is the case with other recipes offered by each hotel.

This problem may be sorted out by implementing such rules for the restaurants and hotels. For example, for rice dishes in menu, quantity of raw rice may be stated against each rice dish, quantity of raw meat and likewise quantities of vegetables and other food items, or it may be cooked quantity as it may suit.

So when you get to a new dinning place please verify the quantity of ordered food to prevent embarrassment after order is served.

There is a saying that “if you do not know the subject do not indulge in discussion as it will expose your ill knowledge, illiteracy and in exposure”. Please do not expect people and match them with your ill exposed profile.

There is a standard protocol to ask question under such visits to city restaurant and that is “how many servings”. Where as, on the other hand, such servings in the menu, have standard reserve protocol as, “single serving means 2 to 3 persons.

Please get out of your place, and expose your self to better place other than Usmania Restaurant, Kharian ,Lahore ,Karachi, Faisalabad, and Pindi.regards.

Thanks for your comments, have you ever purchased a jacket. If i offer you a ‘Large’ sized jacket made in USA, and another one Made in Korea or China would there be a difference in size?

‘Single serving means 2 to 3 persons’ it could be your standard not for all hotels not also for chinese hotels. I am talking about to make standard for hotels and restaurents, whats the problem in it?

Are you really a doctor and served in Army? Instead of replying on topic, you tries to ditch every body. If you have noting to write then its better to shut your mouth and visit other posts.

The hotel you mentioned is favorite among you bloody Army people only. Who mad will go to kharian for lunch or dinner. What you want to prove that we don’t have ethics to eat in any other hotel. What kind of superiority complex you have? Some times you calls some body Homeo doctor, some time calls some body illiterate and so on. What is this?

What is going on here and all this bitterness among each other? Dr. Raza, what is this talk of “racial rivalry”? Please do elaborate and I wish to understand this racial rivalry. I say this out of sincerity and not trying to make a mockery of you.

I believe everyone should take a mango break. You folks are lucky to enjoy those Pakistani mangoes. Even with all the mangoes you can eat, this much hatred is not good for your salivary glands, much less I speak of your serotonin levels. Eat some mangoes, they will definitely help you folks balance out the serotonin levels.

You folks must be busy eating mangoes! Now if I only knew how to get the Pakistani mangoes here in the USA! By the time, I will visit Pakistan later this year, all the mangoes will be gone. Indeed quite a tragedy for me!

Take care all and learn to be civil with each other. No matter what faith, or lack of it, I certainly pray that we all have been brought-up with good family values. Being kind and considerate will go long ways if we Pakistanis, be it living in the West and certainly in Pakistan, wish to see any progress for our Nation.

Do remember to eat many mangoes as you can, they are good for you!

    All the best!

In resturants business all over the world the profit is almost tripled or quadrippled but sharp increase in prices of food items and other necessaties of resturant, now this common and tradional mode of enjoyment is slipping away from the hands of common people. With the price hike the resturants are showing decline in quantity and quality of food and interesting thing is that people are not bothering about it.
Another dangeorus trend is observing around these resturants that in evening times most of food places are always jam packed and around such buildings the groups of hungry beggars are being multiplied with the passage of time who watch and beg to those lively people with lot of affliated and despair feelings on their faces.Such faces are horrifying me and restraining me to avoid such events .it is against the islamic princples and way leading to bloody revlotion that just a wall of crystal is used to separate hundreds of hungry people with few privilged group.
