Deposed chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry had landed at about 11:30 in the morning at Quetta Airport , where he was received by Ali Ahmed Kurd along with  members of the Baluchistan Bar Association & out side the arrival lounge, hundreds & thousands of people belonged to civil society, political parties & student unions welcomed the son of Baluchistan with slogans like; Chief Humara, Iftikhar & Chief Teray Janisaar, Bayshumar Bayshumar,

The journey from Quetta Airport to Baluchistan High Court is about 20 minutes but the caravan of Iftikhar Chuadri reached it’s destination in about 7 hours in mids of tremendous welcome given by the people of Baluchistan.

Indeed the nation is steeping in the right direction & the freedom of judiciary will be the first destination of this long long journey.

How many hundreds? or how many thousands?

The trouble-maker ex CJ is expected to be released from house arrest today / tomorrow after the new PM takes oath. For the sake of a peaceful future of our country, lets hope that he doesn’t resort to tactics unbecoming of a chief justice. Tactics like long marches, disturbing public peace and inciting his unruly mob of lawyers. The last thing Pakistan needs now is confrontation between state institutions and the one person threatening to push Pakistan into total chaos and infighting is Justice Iftikhar Ch.

Exact no of people who were on the airport road of Quetta to greet the deposed Chief Justice may not known to any one but surely they were more than twenty thousand & as far as calling his march towards Quetta city a trouble for the poor people, who might have been trapped in the traffic jams & so on, i just would like to put forward one fact, maijority of the people who welcomed Chief Justice belonged to middle & lower middle class & it was unbelivable how they were happy about the arrival of the Chief.
This was not a trouble at all & poor people from every part of Balochistan had come to greet thier beloved son, who just said, NO, to about four top army genrals in the notorious army camp in Rawlpindi & indeed only the sons of Balochistan can do this & you Aftab don’t make fun of numbers like hundreds & thousands like most of the anti-Balochistan lobby.

Hype it anyway you want but the bottom line is this that CJ and AA and other lawyers are among the most popular persons in Pakistan today. And I think they have earned it. After all taking the beating from Pakistani Police is no joke.

    Aftab S. Alam Says:

Mr.Syed Samiullah Shah, let me correct you on this false impression that you managed to get. My comment is not directed towards people of Balochistan and I am neither a part nor aware of any anti Balochistan lobby. I have great respect, admiration, and love for them because as a Pakistani it is not possible otherwise. I hope my position is clear on this. Now, lets go back on my original comment above : ” How many hundreds? or how many thousands?” Yes, I was laughing but not at the people, but at your getting carried away. I suspected that you stretched your imagination a little too much about the numbers, which you have confirmed now.

    Have a real nice day!

    Aashique of Musharraf Says:

Aitzaz Ahsan ,a ‘Pakistani’ politician in the garb of a lawyer has started
making mockery of the system. By demanding restoration of Judiciary by an
executive order, he has started showing signs of desperation. His Indian
friend Ashok Chaturvedi Indian Intelligence Chief is in hot water and Aitzaz
has been tasked to show some results as soon as possible so that Ashok can
    continue as RAW Chief.

After spending over 500 million dollars since March 2007, when lawyer
movement started, Democracy could not be derailed in Pakistan. Aitzaz who
enjoys aged long relations with Indian Establishment since the time he was
founding V Chairman of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan. He has retained that relationship and as Interior Minister he had handed over list of Sikhs separatists to Indian government.

    Aftab S. Alam Says:

Shah Saheb, I know exactly what you are talking about. I am a direct beneficiary of their love and care. There are couple of Pakhtuns brothers gentelmen who I grew up with in my household. And that is why I feel so strongly about these communities and them being a neglected people in the federation of Pakistan. Balochistan and NWFP have been the most disadvantaged provinces and I have all the understanding and sypathies for their bitterness. I will never insult a Baluchi or a Pakhtun or their nation, you can be rest assured. And tell you truth I have been watching with great interest all these projects they are working on over there and have really great expectations for you and your people.

You must forgive me if I sounded less than kind in previous communications. Blessings.
