Bhuttos & Gandhi - United in tragedy
By satish • Dec 28th, 2007 • Category: Politics • (277 views) • One ResponseThe brutal killing of Benazir Bhutto by Al Qaeda reminded Indians of the killing of Rajiv Gandhi by LTTE suicide bombers .
Both were children of former Prime Ministers i.e. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Indira Gandhi. Both came from prominent political dynasties in their respective countries, and were given the best in terms of education.
Indira Gandhi was killed by her own guards while Zulfikar Bhutto was hung by Zia..
While Bhutto went to Oxford and Harvard, Rajiv Gandhi was sent for his higher studies to the Imperial College London, the University of London, and Cambridge Universitys Trinity College.
Both became Prime Ministers after the assassinations of their parents. Both won massive mandates from the people of their respective countries.
Both suffered similar fates while campaigning for elections. Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated on May 21, 1991 in Sriperumbedur, Tamil Nadu, by a Sri Lankan female suicide bomber, when he was no longer a Prime Minister.
Indian’s express heartfelt sorrow to her family and her supporters and to the people of Pakistan. The real enemy of fundamentalism and terrorism needs to be wiped out if democracy and civil liberties need to survive
The Indian media has been covering this story on a big scale do check out www.rediff.com for more on our perspectives and views.
The Indian government is worried on the instability in Pakistan and its effect in Kashmir and other economic impacts in the subcontinent.
We hope normalcy returns to Pakistan and Democracy and will of people are restored in the intrested of Pakistan and the world at large.

Yes, both were the produce of corrupt society/culture that infested the Northern Indian subcontinent.
Nehru and Indra came from so called Kashmiri background , from a corrupt feudal background.
The real work was done by all others but they used the issue of Kashmir to grab the control.
Same goes for Bhutto and Benazir,
If it wasn’t for the South of India (the hardworkers) , India would have been the basket case like Pakistan. Luckly India was so big that North could change the south.
In India the northerner were not able to corrupt the southerners , the south kept educating themselves , left India and kept growing , came back with knowledge and money. The whole India is now taking credit of it.
The problem with Pakistan is that the Northerner (punjabies, Sindhies) Bhutto and Zia destroyed the education system so much that even the new generation of Southerner (Karachiites) are being effected.
I hope some are left that can leave the country and one day come back to change the country like the Chinese expat did for their country.
