Better to Close Those Mills, Which Cannot Give Sugar to Pakistanis
By Salman Mugsi • Sep 5th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 4 CommentsMian Manzoor Wattoo, the historical lota of Pakistan, who is nowadays is in Pakistan People’s Party enjoying the ministry has said that government is unable to decrease the prices of the sugar, and the billionairre sugar mill owners and other hoarders won’t be touched, despite of the orders of the Lahore High Court.
Media report says that while disposing of a suo motu notice regarding the prevailing sugar crisis, a two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif and Justice Ejaz Ahmed Chaudhry issued this order, saying, “this court directs the Punjab government to ensure sale of sugar at Rs40 per kg to the general public without distinction in the open market, and not only in Sunday Bazaars, Ramazan Bazaars or the Utility Stores under the guard of the police.”
Federal Minister for Industries and Production Manzoor Wattoo is clearly protecting the profiteers and hoarders. Sugar Mill owners have said that they would prefer to close down their mills instead of selling sugar to the people of this country at the reasonable prices. Shahbaz Sharif, the chief minister of Punjab has said that his government will do every bit to fullfil the orders of the court, no matter what. People of Pakistan stand with Shahbaz against the Wattoo and his hoarders.

Why close the mills ?These Mills are now property of people republic of Pakistan.We should arrest the culprits and and punish those brains who betrayal their nation.if I am not wrong the machinery of these sugar mills are declared tax free on purchasing from local steel mill,Each mill is made on loan taking from Gov to Pakistan.Whose moneyis this it is people of Pakistan.Then these people didn’t pay taxes for more than 2 or 3 years a per govt policy.
It is not sugar these mills produce only. It produces molasses, ethers and waste of sugar cane that is sold to paper industry or for using as fuel in boilers.
So Govt if sincere and strong should punish these mill owners who are earning from more then one product and cheating their mother land.
It is horrible scene that flour, sugar and cement are product of Pakistan but hidden in larger gowdoms in front of whole management so what happens in the Pakistan is rarely done in other countries having little system of governance.
