WHEREAS for other nations a situation like this would mean catastrophe as the nation goes off the track being driven into uncertainty through a clash of the departments, for us this is now a routine, so its like we are now back on the track, back on the track where we have spent most of [...]

Shameless

By Talal Hussain Malik • Oct 30th, 2009 • Category: Politics

IT is this country we live in. It is unfortunate for our hapless nation to have a ruling class which is without a conscience, indifferent to the pain that the masses are going through. When the masses were shedding tears over the Peshawar massacre, our leaders were busy welcoming Hillary with smiling faces. No matter [...]

By Talal Hussain Malik • Sep 17th, 2009 • Category: Politics

THE government has announced for the public convenience that they should be ready to three big crisis, that of electricity, water and gas. It’s a tough weather, the summer, and it is getting intense every year. To add more to misery is the power shortage problem. When the hot season was in its full swing the government tried to solace the public by saying that the power shortage problem would be completely dealt with by December this year. JUST when the Supreme Court played its role issuing stay order against introduction of new Carbon Surcharge Tax in lieu of already sky high petroleum levy showing how it is possible to give relief to the people when government itself failed, the government played its card, in a crooked way as usual and petrol is [...]

The Judicial Policy

By Talal Hussain Malik • Jun 7th, 2009 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look

“JUSTICE delayed is justice denied”, the maxim, is the driving force behind the Judicial Policy introduced by the Chief Justice about a week ago. The Judicial Policy aims at quick disposal of cases and thus providing relief to the litigants. But as the situation is, unfortunately the Judicial Policy might well be the reason for [...]

IT is amazing how our government responds to certain situations. Going back a few months when the issue of restoration of Chief Justice was still in dispute, the government was discarding all possibilities of restoration of Chief Justice. Ironically, however, the government officials changed their statements after CJ’s reinstatement saying that government itself was considering [...]

By Talal Hussain Malik • May 13th, 2009 • Category: Misc, Worth A Second Look

ALL around the world, laws are formulated and regulated to protect the rights of citizens. Our Constitution and several major and minor Acts and Ordinances ensure protection of the public rights. A bird eye view of the law reveals that it covers almost every aspect, however nowhere is the true implication witnessed. Back in the [...]
