Anonymous heroes and heroines of our time
By Engr. K. Shahzad • Jul 2nd, 2009 • Category: Misc • 5 CommentsMughal emperor Jahangir is known by all of us but only few know his wife Noor Jahan (light of the world). And very few know that how important she was in administrating the state affairs. GHR Tillotson wrote that Noor Jahan was able to control state affairs from behind the purdah screen. Well, history kept her brilliance, although she was behind the screen. But there are countless other heroes and heroines which never come to spot light, yet as powerful, that even the geographies of our world would have be different if they wouldn’t have play their part.
Believe me that we would be deprived of poet Iqbal if his teacher replied in negative to Iqbal query that whether or not I continue writing poetry. Who knows that how much important that women was in the life of Ibn Insha who made him write the classic poetry and especially the book Chand Nagar. Time keeps the record of these countless hidden heroes which we don’t know and may never able to know ever. Even these secret heroes of ours, themselves don’t know that how important there little deed would will become in the course of time.
All this makes me believe that how important I am and how important everybody is in this world. Few weeks back while rowing in River Danube I put the little bug to dry place with straw. That little straw of mine was matter of life and death to that little dude. Similarly, sometimes we do and sometime we don’t realize that how important our little deeds are to others. Sometimes we are not able to realize because the significance of deed get clarify with time, sometimes even after our life span.
I still remember my teacher of secondary school because she gave me the confidence through her encouragements on my little steps in study. It was that confidence which enabled me to stand face to face through every thick and thin of my life. Today I am very successful in my life ALHAMDOLILA but who knows that how important the role of that teacher was in all that. Even she may not know this.
The point we need to realize is that how important are these little deeds of ours. Who knows that how many wives, sons and daughters are running the affairs of their household in right direction even they are not the head of the family. Everybody praise Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Iqbal but nobody cares for these silent hidden heroes who turned these personalities to heroes.
Who knows that this handful of bloggers may turn the course of time and lead to different future of Pakistan that may be otherwise without them! Now if we still need our heroic figures, our leaders than we have to plant them make them, groom them and save them in their hard times.
I want to dedicate my blog to those real heroes and heroines of our country, who never came to spotlight, and we may never know them but maybe we are still surviving because of their little good deeds.

Pakistanis are very poor in conserving real events of history that’s why our generation is unaware of real heroes of our land.
Go and ask any gold medalist of lahore or pindi or Karachi, that who are sir ganga ram. lady willlington,
Lawrence, contribution of rana liqaut ali, nuns of Rawalpindi, madan sisters of lahore, mama parsi etc.
I am sure they are unaware of our true heroes or heroines. Now modern media is coming forward to tell new generation about real revolutionists of our areas who contributed a lot where they spent their lives regardless of differences of religion, ethnic and languages among their communities.
Probably you are right nazia. We forgot our true heroes and therefore we are suffering. The time is taking revenge from us and we are getting deprived of these selfless people.
But I am not hopeless, I still see the blossoms of selfless efforts every now and than. And I think they need our care, praise and appreciation. I remember the Night-blooming jessamine ( raat ki raani) in our backyard. Believe me, one can smell its fragrence blocks away in the days when I cared her, sit beside her while reading, even talked to her. Than I left the country and when last time I visited our old house, she was still there but mere a plant, without any arome, nektor or fragrance.
I guess same is true with these noble, selfless people who devoted thier whole lives or part of it. All they need is a word of appreciation every once in a while.
