All Guns on ISI
By Brig. (r) Junaid Zaman • Aug 6th, 2008 • Category: Politics • (3,916 views) • 4 CommentsIt was British who created the buffer between Pakistan and Afghanistan in the name of FATA and governed it through FCR. It was the successive governments of Pakistan who under the international pressure and especially under the pressure of Afghanistan, didn’t do much to include FATA in the settled mainstream. Then it was due to the extreme pressure and necessity of US during the war against Russia, that FATA was made infested with every kind of weapon and the area was teeming with the militants from all over the world with the “Asheerbad ” and aid of Washington.
Now this bordering area of Pakistan - Afghanistan which is thousands of kilometers long and very hard to monitor due to the terrain has become the flashpoint for the world, and now in the US words has become the breeding ground for the terrorists. 53,000 NATO forces in Afghanistan believe that 60% of the attacks over them are coming from the FATA area, and the Karzai administration of Afghanistan is openly accusing Pakistan for harboring militants in the FATA area.
The new vogue in the town is to blame for every attack in Afghanistan over Afghan and NATO forces upon ISI, and if a fire cracker gets blasted in Herat, Helmund or Kabul, Karzai gets-up from his toilet and points dirty fingers at ISI. In the shape of ISI, they have found a juicy scapegoat, and this all has been pampered by the Indian RAW, who has allegedly planned a bomb blast in front of its embassy few days ago, and then all hell broke loose against ISI.
Now American President has given a stern warning to the Pakistani premier during his visit to the Washington. It was a shocker for the novice premier when angry Bush bellowed over him and instead of filling his hat with dollars, warnings and threats were rendered at full velocity. The fiasco in Islamabad about changing the command of ISI also added up to the already shattered image.
But tell you what? ISI has got the skill, muscle and will to come out of this Damocles-like situation.

I.S.I is our National Entity and We have to save it for our own survival. We can’t afford weak I.S.I, even it is already weaken a lot by putting it in Politics and diverting its attentions from Intelligence to the watch dog of PM/Presidents in last 18 years.

Organizations like ISI are an essential for countries like Pakistan, but all assured a check and balance should be there when it comes to our own public. However, I felt utmost satisfaction on Bush’s anger over its ‘performance’.

Sir Salam.
We all as humble and loyal paksitani, have this wish to see our country progeress in right directions, we have stop n start sort of progress in alst 20 odd years and progress seems halt at this point. using ISI to pressurize Govt for Pakistan and than creating such environment to take President to Impeachment are not at all good for pakistan. I am not against impeachments of wrong preople even they are pakistan president. as this would create a culture of impeachment in any case which we all need at every scale in our society.
I am emotional and directionless while writing all this but me and many citizens like me living in Pakistan having very young kids with a question in our mind ? what would be the future of our kids ? would we be staying at a place where you would see bombing ? why not shift out from Pakistan with families ? i am coward to think this way too for my kids but i think if time comes i would rahter die for Pakistan then leavign out.My class mates and colleagues whohad migrated in last 52 years to make sure safety of their famililes and that is not a good sign.
people stick to Power using all wrong ways and reasons ? then become so selfish to choose Prime ministers and Ministers with NO MORALITY ? we let our assests like steel mills , PTCL , banks to go in hands who are investing strategically in pakistan ?Get instituions like Army, ISI , Supreme courts into to dirty business and then receive questions over it ?
at same time i am very possitive and Hopeful that we would see good time, and we would be heading towards right direction. it would took time of generation or two to happen but it would happen Insha Allah.
My most thoughts are not in the cotext of article but i am sure Brig Junaid Sb approves of it.
