Aik Zardari Sub Pay Bhari

By Umer Toor • Jun 14th, 2010 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 15 Comments

They said he was mentally retarded.

They said he was corrupt.

They said he would never let go of his powers.

They said he was involved in the murder of Benazir Bhutto.

They said he would be shown door home very soon from within the party.

They tried to ignite confrontation between him and the premier.

They gave deadlines and they gave away ultimatums.

But he is here and he is here to stay. Our own President Asif Ali Zardari.

Starting from Pakistan Khappay to the 18th amendment, the President of Pakistan and the chairperson of the party of martyrs has proven time and again that he is not the production of some miracle or accident or assassination, but a true leader who is shining when he was needed most. He is the president of war, fighting not only the Taliban terrorists but also the vulture of media, and facing a rude and dishonest opposition.

Sadly enough, the judiciary and the establishment is also not providing any support to this lone warrior who is navigating the ship of Pakistan through these turbulent waters with dexterity and matchless bravery. These people are so perturbed by the successes and perseverance of the president that they are now hoping that the judiciary would clamp down and somehow disloge the president.

The cruelty is that these people have tried to implicate the good name of Zardari sahib and his steadfast companions like Rehman Malik and Dr. Babar Awan into the tragic slaying of former two time Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto. Just imagine how gut-wrenching and painful would that be for the president and his acolytes, who are carrying on the legacy of the Benazir Bhutto? But even then the patience of president is exemplary.

He has sustained and undergone through all these media trial and the conspiracies from other pillars and not-so-pillars of state and has combated the theatrics of non-state actors. He is thorn in the heart for the enemies of democracy and Pakistan and he is the balm for the democracy and the people who cherish it.

  2. @Umer

It would have been more appropriate if the caption of your article was “Aik Baymari Jo Kay Hay Zardari”.

Who are you trying to convince here, we all know how he managed to wangle his way to Presidency. Zardari and his corrupt cronies are disgrace to our nation and country. May ALLAH (S.W.T.) bless our nation with vision and help us to get rid of corrupt leaders like Zardari, Nawaz, Shahbaz, Fazlul Rehman, Altaf Hussain and their acolytes.

  3. Umer Toor, kuch Khuda khofi karo, itan jhoot na bolo.

  4. Dr. Babar Awan would have been proud of you. Now come on tell us the truth about your fake degree, Toor.

  5. @ Mansoori, you should watch your language and respect the head of state.

@ Aamir, madiha, ayesha, you all are jealous of him, aren’t you?

  6. A little biased author I must say here. But one thing rightly pointed out that in this time of uncertainty we all must unite and fight against extremism rather than giving rise to instability by pointing fingers at eachother which eventually the terrorist will cash ONLY!.

  7. Can someone explain to me how this is abuse? How is this different than your trendsetters making their youngsters write comments at this esteemed forum? — I will admit this is a little ridiculous, but it is nowhere near abuse but along-with undeniable established facts of the matter.

  8. Is this a serious article??? I hope you are joking!!! I’m amazed at such an ignorance and that also from supposedly educated people!!

  9. @ Aamir: Rightly said.

  10. this nation loves “boot” and “onion” like musherref and zerdari,,,,

  11. @writer
Dear, you are not alone in writing such a trifling. There a lot many others also who daily come in TV talk show, indulge ad museum in non-issues, quarrel like dogs, confusing us to the maximum and ultimately make mockery of themselves. Really feeling pity for you. Please address the real issues with positive mind as we all need it and hope you won’t mind the advice.

    Respected readers/ reviewers,
I think we should discuss only the things which are worth discussing – not what Zardari is or what he is not. Although Mr Zardari is also “JAMHOORIAT KA HUSSN”, someone may kindly comment whether he could ascend to the office if PML-N had not given him the vote.

    Regards for all.
