Aftab Shaban Mirani for Prime Minister ?

By Ali Yar Khan • May 29th, 2008 • Category: Politics • 2 Comments •

It is learned that Asif Ali Zardari isn’t too happy with the current Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gillani, as Mr. Gillani has raised his objection over the appointment of Rehman Malik as the interior advisor. Premier Yousuf is also very dismayed at the heavy interference of Rehman Malik in state affairs, and Rehman Malik doesn’t report to anyone.

After making Yousuf Raza Gillani Prime Minister from his party, Zardari placed Rehman Malik near the helm of the affairs, and it was also conveyed to the Yousuf. Initially under sheer gratitude, Gillani remained speechless, but now as he has become accustomed to the taste of power and the rule, he is now itching to have some authority and he doesn’t like the “advises” of Rehman Malik in the issues.

Yousuf Raza Gillani also doesn’t much like Pervez Musharraf and now he has also defected from the pro Musharraf strategy of Zardari. He knows that he has to one day go back to his constituency and he won’t get any votes for supporting the dictator overtly or covertly. Yousuf also wasnt much amused when he learned the fiasco of extension of by-elections by Rehman Malik, in which he tried to cajole the NWFP government to ask Election Commission to extend the elections. There are many other minor issues, irking our new Premier.

Asif Ali Zardari is very proud of his king making role, and he doesn’t want any eye balling this time, and he is not in the mood to hear any No from his puppet. That is why he has got his old buddy Aftab Shaban Mirani elected by crook from Shikarpur in delayed election in which many people died due to violence, and now Mirani is being touted as the replacement of Gillani. This would also appease the not-so-happy Sindhi power base of PPP. One thing is also sure that had Aftab Shaban Mirani been elected in the general elections on 18th February, he would have been our Prime Minister right now.

  1. “……….he doesn’t like the “advises” of Rehman Malik in the issues.”

Ali Yar Khan, check the following out:

When Rehman Malik advises PM Yusuf Raza, he gives him advice.

    Did it help you?

  2. There was very little violence in the election, and only one person died and was killed by the Rangers personnel in self defence!
