The Pakistani Spectator

Last night i was reading Auria Maqbool Jan’s article ” Who Jo Tareek Rahoo May Maray Gahy”, written some years back on the brutal & barbarous killings of Taliban prisoners inside 40 feet long locked containers at the hands of General Rasheed Dostum & General Malik’s men. Those prisoners belonged to different countries including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia & Chechnya. The way those were treated is horrible & beyond explanation & i am sure if i write the detail, most of the readers will start crying. Quite unfortunately the men who were the symbols of horror & fear has been the members of the current Afghan government under the nose of the champion of human rights, The USA.

Afghanistan is one of the unfortunate country in modern history which has been divided on ethnic bases for more than 30 years & unfortunately in this whole episode each & every neighbour of this unfortunate state had & has been serving their own interests, including Pakistan, Iran, Tajikistan & Uzbekistan along with Russia & USA.

When Russia invaded Afghanistan in late 70’s, USA had rightly read the script & thus started defeating communism in Afghanistan via the ever defendable Pakistan. It is indeed a fact that the war in Afghanistan was not the war between Islam & Russia, rather it was a war between USA & communism & the aftermath of that war had proved this but unfortunately a former dictator in Pakistan had called this a war between Islam & Russia & thus adopted a policy with which we are still suffering.

When Russia was defeated & the war lords had started fighting among themselves for the throne of Kabul, the common men & women had fed up with this whole drama. In the mean time some war lords had started hated business of play boys. One famous incident occuered near Kandhar in which a war lord had taken a teenage in to his custody from his grandfather & thus made him sat on his tanks, announcing that he will marry this guy.(shameful act) This whole episode had compelled a local Imam of a local Mosque to initiate rebellion & he did so, that Mullah has become famous Mullah Mohammad Umer, the founding father & spiritual leader of Taliban.

From here own the Taliban movement had got momentum with the local people support & with in four years, 95 % Afghanistan came under their control & the rest is history. No opium production, no brutal killings, no burglary, no illegal business & the most simple lives of the ministers, including the fore father of Taliban Mullah Mohammad Umer.

The west & in particular the USA feared this whole system of Taliban & started conspiracies against them & again the rest is history. There were some elements in Taliban who were really brutal towards women but again that was all part of conspiracy & the readers have to keep in mind that.

Afghanistan is still burning, Hamid Karzai’s government is confined only to his president palace in Kabul & he seems in pursue of USA’s agenda. The men working under him had a horrible record of Human rights violation. The likes of General Rasheed Dostum, General Malik, Khaleeli, Rabani & Gul Agha Sherzai, all of them had been a stigma on the name of Human beings. And cream on the cake is that they enjoy full support of the United Nations & the so called champions of Human Rights. My goodness me! What a contradiction is this.

Taliban movement is a fact no matter who so ever denies that & i can guarantee every body reading this article that peace will never ever prevail in Afghanistan until & unless the NATO forces along with US’ forces withdraw from Afghanistan & the Hamid Karzai government asks the Taliban to come forward & join them in rebuilding Afghanistan & hand over the Pashtoon majority belt to Taliban & set on a common agenda, and that is, “Rebuilding & making a new Afghanistan”
