Accepter la responsabilité
By Asim • May 21st, 2008 • Category: Misc • One Response •Many years they spent in control,
Of our fates and dreams,
Of all the time given to rectify
The old mistakes, the old blunders
Avoided they have, this responsibility
Like those old fears, glued to bones
Not a virtue they say “to accept”
The years of guilt- in conscience and soul
Destroyed in abundance, the spirit
From the concept of nearness,
The hollow mechanics of understanding
Searched they not solutions only alliances
Personal but not official, for glorification
Price too heavy, burden too much to bear
As we surrendered our beginnings
To these vultures of our creation
To the distant end, in view, in presence
Now removed from their places,
Of power and of those golden days
Still they don’t understand,
The old responsibility given
To them it was just conversations
Aimless and hollow, on our fates
Now their time has come,
Time to leave, these avenues of power
Still they ramble, I did this I did that
Give me another chance, I will prove
My worth, and commitment
To the nation, this time, too late
Let them walk in, the new recruits
In old clothes of corruption and plunder
We will make a difference, they say
With the new slogans and old alliances
Resume they the old story
Of absent people and fabricated egos
In the land of oppression
Where hunger rains, and no justice
All day, all night, the empty conversations
As we witness our demise on TV screens!
