A Square Peg in the Round Mouth of Pig
By Haris Hashmi • Jul 7th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 5 CommentsOn the face of it our leaders claim for not kowtowing in front of the America, but when we see them in the courts of minions like Holbrooke, it seems that Almighty has ordered our leaders to obey the likes of Richard. America has got it’s vested interests to appease, but why in the hell we are so desperate to support America in its designs while neglecting our own interests, which are directly linked with our survival is beyond comprehension.
From the top of the K2 to the bottom of the Gwadar, Pakistan is being used as a playground for the powers around the world. From our so-called friends like Saudi Arabia and UAE to our steadfast ally like USA, every one is having a go at us at out own land with our obsequeous smiles and ostrich-like attitude. We are only concerned with aid and deals and kickbacks.
All that screwed up talk about Pakistan having a great potential and untapped natural reserves seems elsuive now. I hear that we have got huge reserves of coal, gas, oil, and other minerals and we have four weathers, and we have fertile land, rich seabeds, unexplored deserts and mountains and above all promising human resource. What’s the use of everything like that if we still have to beg?

True account, Mr. Hashmi.
Its our leaders and our army management who go for begging to international masters mostly for fulfilling huge defense budget.Arms and war industry are our targets in all budgets instead of of human development so whatever we earn through our hard money and natural resources, all goes toward militarism in the name of defense of country that is facing polarization with each year passing in such war games.
What else do you want them to do? In a country wracked with terrorism, a crashed economy, energy crises - stop saying they’re begging! They are ASKING and what else should they do, we need financial aid! If our resources were as expansive and things were as easy as you make them out to be, we’d never be here to begin with! The President got more responsibility on his shoulders than you could imagine. And he’s only human, not God. How has any country in the world gotten through crises without international aid in different forms?! You elect them and then you abuse them. Where is the justice?!
Sorry @5 we ddint select our president he had made kangaroo jumping into president house by selling or buying people’s representatives as per their demands. If you consider that such begging would help us to survive as independent nations than I think beggars of our streets are right in choosing their professions as it is only solution of our unemployment problem.Naouz beelha why we will place him even near God He is a corrupt human being and it is all on record and his NRO is certification of ISO 2007 that is being justified again and again in public with all false justification.
We want democracy and critisize dictators even for their good deeds.
Once there is an elected leader, we call it a ‘kangaroo jumping’ by buying and selling people’s representatives.
That means people representatives are bought and sold very easily and freely and hence they are
corrupt people.
If majority of people representatives are corrupt then democracy fails to deliver any good to the people.
When democracy fails, dictators come.
When dictators come, the people become happy and relieved.
but then politicians run for foreign assistance and hatch plans, make people fool again and somehow manage to reach the power corridors and start corruption, make amends to their bank balances, abuse their power and once again democracy fails to deliver any good to the people who voted for them
and the show goes on………….
