A Real Test Time for New Government
By Farid Masood • Feb 26th, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 4 Comments •The mandate is clear, clear like a glass that the voters want the Rule of Law through re-instatement of under-mined Judiciary to the status of November 2, 2007. Therefore, the mandate is tough for the new electives. Any party not coping up with the wishes of the nation will face the same future as faced by the party PML(Q) which had the back of Musharraf regime.
Is it an easy task, surely not. Masses have the opinion that re-instatement of judiciary will refresh the case of missing Pakistani citizens. This is one of those cases, which are thought (may be practically) to be proceeding against Musharraf regime and the ex-governmental heads. As per opinion of the masses the missing persons are in US detention centers handed-over by the current government of Pakistan. If it is true then will the up-coming government be able to bear US pressure? There are some other cases against the ex-government.
The economy is actually at the brink of downfall. The foreign reserves shown in every document of the government do not belongs to Pakistan. These reserves have the money prone to be handed over to the creditors today or tomorrow as per the binding of the pacts. The boost in economy was created by starting construction projects (housing schemes) as per economic thumb rule.
The inflow of money in so called of war on terror has no audit or exact figures of inflow or outflow, but Pakistan has to re-pay with the passage of time.
The oil is almost 35% high than the previous when the rate of oil products prices were last set. This will put in tremendous pressure on our fragile economy. The banks were allowed to grab nation’s wealth by offering different products the general people do not know about their payback. This has resulted in 33% rate of return to the banks making this business as profitable as none before. The nation’s wealth went into the hands of some dozen business groups.
These and some other issues directly or in-directly posing threat to the newly elected parties in process to form a government. These threats are saying that no party should take responsibility of the government in center nor in provinces. This will help to secure their political future in Pakistan.

Quite an eye opener. So then, if the newly elected government cannot handle the situation should we pray for someone to descend from heaven to come and run our government and lead us out of trouble? I was wondering how a single man should be able to so much for his country by establishing the Grameen Bank, refer to the Nobel prize winner for 2006 Muhammad Yunus from Bangladesh. We need a few people of the similar caliber and our problems would be history. Our politicians would lead us nowhere!!
Our politicos need to muster strength and show some nerve.
Or new form govt. will take the shortcut. The actions of Zardari are really frightening.
We have the calibre in Pakistan, but our systems do not allow that to come up, not only in politics it is observed in our practices as nation
