A psychological way to increase the rates of Electricity

By Farid Masood • Jan 10th, 2008 • Category: Politics • No Responses •

Electricity is the man source of power from house hold machines to Mega Voltage motors of industries. The industries having connections of high voltage power lines are enjoying electric power but general public is much affected due to power shortage. Hugh power outage is being witnessed in most parts of the country. Approximately around 16 hours of load shedding is being observed daily in most areas affecting the life of general public.

At the start of this winter season people were given torture by increasing the rates of gas (natural gas and LPG). An 11 kg cylinder which cost Rs 400 three years back now it is being selling at rate of 1000 per cylinder. People are bound to stop use of LPG and are going forced to purchase kerosene oil to lit the stove. Kerosene oil is out of market now a days. In this rainy season dry wood is also not available.

It is a good tactics to increase the unit price of electricity. In that case if the electrical power is available and no load shedding observed then raising unit price by 10 paisas will create agitation within the general public, but when there is no electricity then people will welcome the raise in rates even if raised 300%.

So, come on buddies lets enjoy our economic growth we have achieved in last 5 years and purchase electricity at rate of Rs 15 per unit (KWH). I hope the champion of economic growth (who is in his flat in London now) would have left watching new about Pakistan.
